HBO's Game of Thrones. ( No Book Spoilers Allowed -- Go to Hell.)

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

It's almost time for more blood to flow!

So let us sing with joy:

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I think I need to watch seasons 1 - 3 again to prepare for season 4.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Not too long to wait now...! The second and third trailers... "Vengeance" and "Secrets" are whetting my appetite!

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I'm early in season 3, slowly trying to bring myself up to speed with this show. I still have a difficult time following the story. There are just too many characters and parallel plots. Half the characters I couldn't even tell you their name. The show seems to insist that viewers have read the books in order to follow the show. But it is definitely entertaining.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Watched the finale of series 3 two days ago. Also, finished the last book.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

So looking forward to the 4th season and am prepared to be as entertained and devastated as I have been by every season this far. Incredible storytelling and film making.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Does the little man make it into the 4th season?

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Been slowly catching up with the series. Just saw ep 3-09 tonight and the "red wedding", which I had zero knowledge of prior (I'm so glad I have not been reading this thread). I'm still floored. Sad. Angry. Unnerved. Probably the most memorable scene I have watched in a television show. I know I am late to the party, just thought I'd share. Now I am going back to grieving. . .

Tyrion? Yes.

He's still alive at the end of book 5. GRRM has said that Tyrion is his favorite character so it's extremely unlikely he'll die.

Also, the Red Wedding could be seen coming from miles away in the TV show if you actually followed the story. It still was dramatic but not unexpected. The book is far more subtle about it until the actual event.

You must be more more intuitive and just plain smarter than everyone else.
Yes it was obvious the wedding night was probably not going to end well, but not at that magnitude. But there was nothing prior in the story that gave a clue that
the Starks would sustain all those losses all in one scene, let alone the same episode.
We knew Lord Walder was a dick, but not that much.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

*Sigh* It's back, it's finally back. And as far as I'm concerned, the season is off to an awesome start. For me, this episode boiled down to two things:
Oberyn and Arya

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

You just get the sense even without spoilers that things are going to be dark and bloody this season. As much as I want things to happy happy for dragon girl, you get a sense she has some misery coming her way. I like the bisexuality of the Prince, but I am not warming to him yet.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

The prince is a dick so far. Yes, Daany is feeling the growth and testiness of her dragons, especially the big one. They are Dragons after all. Circe' continues to be all cunt, as does the father, and there are not enough horrible words to describe Joffrey. Jon Snow seems to have healed nicely from all those arrows stuck in him, and Arya, wicked smile girl. Feeling real good, were you?

I agree that the Red Wedding was far more horrible and bloody than I could have imagined coming since I have not read the books. I think from last season you could skip the spoiler boxes. I would hope everyone is caught up now and ready to bathe in brilliance.

I have sent you a private message here at JUB with some details of what I know. I am quite hopeful that Atkol itself is going to be back at some point. In the meantime one of my fellow Atkolers has founded a spot on the Intenet for Atkolers to gather to touch base. There is also my Group here at JUB. Once again thank you JUB for the privalage of allowing me to be part of the JUB forum.
