HBO's Game of Thrones. ( No Book Spoilers Allowed -- Go to Hell.)

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Can we make sure we don't put book spoilers in this. I have read the book, but it clearly states on page on - DO NOT PUT BOOK SPOILERS ON HERE. It's really just bad manners for those watching the show or catching up on the books - I mean the murder of Joffrey has a long way to go before they make the reveal.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

What was the big spoiler that offended you so?

Man I think you are smart enough to know what spoiler you put out there, if its not happened in the show yet DON'T SAY IT. If you want a group about the books, make a thread for it. But don't ruin the twists and turns because you want to look clever....

My thoughts exactly! I do mean EXACTLY.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

This episode was terrific from beginning to end. They sure left it in an interesting spot. In one of the earlier seasons they had some zombie like people at Castle Black. I think the only way to kill to make it be final was with fire. I forget what were they bitten by to end up like that? Thankfully Joffery doesn't seem to be coming back.

Those zombie things were wights, which the Others create out of dead bodies. While the Others cannot be killed by conventional weapons, wights can be killed by fire.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I'm a week behind the broadcast episodes. Just saw last week's. Lol, I can't believe that little bastard is gone. At least so soon in the season. Although I wonder if the show is going to be as enjoyable without the person we love to hate the most.

Thank you for answering my question. The Others is the book name for what the TV Show refers to as the White Walkers.

I am sure we will find a new person to hate. I find myself hating Littlefinger.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I'm currently reading A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold and was lucky to read the purple wedding before it happened. I was overjoyed about it. Anyway haven't seen the most recent episode however the Lion and the Rose disappointed me TBH I thought the whole episode should have been around the wedding and the aftermath, only my opinion but still a good episode. Jack Gleeson did very well in that episode.

Yes, Littlefinger should be hated. He is a slippery one. He betrayed Ned and now he has Sansa. Tyrion was right, the person who murdered Joffrey wanted him to be blamed and killed for it. Leaving Sansa a young widow. He was in love with her mother and has become fixated with Sansa, she almost left with him once. To everyone's knowledge she is the heir to winterfell, since no one knows what happened to Arya and believe Bran and Rikon are dead. In the previews(for the season) Little Finger says "A lot can happen between now and Never". I believe he is trying to get Sansa to marry him so he can be Lord of the North.

With Tyrion dead to Lannister's have no claim to that region, since their will be no Lannister heir Sansa will give birth to, since the marriage between her and Tryion was never consummated. As, Bolton's Bastard said in the previous episode(Paraphrasing) The north will rally around a Stark. If Little Finger can get Sansa to marry him, they will rally around Sansa.

Sneaky, Sneaky Little Finger.

That whole scene of the Twins(Cersi and Jamie) screwing right next to their dead son was pretty sick. Jamie has changed a lot since the beginning. In the beginning he didn't think twice about killing Bran(Trying to at least) on two separate occasions. When Cersi said to kill Tyrion the look on his face and utterance that Tryion was his brother, their brother showed he had grown during his time away and being held captive. The old Jaime would have let those men do whatever they wanted to to Breanne, instead he saved her twice. Remember he killed his own cousin to try and escape?

I had doubted the actor who took over as Dario, but he's kinda sexy. They really could have done more with Prince Oberyn in that orgy scene. I was disappointed to see the Prince and the Male not even kissing. I hope he doesn't trust Tywin.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

^Cersei gets more crazy as the books go on culminating in her infamous climax [no pun intended]. Although with the recent scene, it does throw a wrench in her plot. Cersei is actually repulsed by Jaime and his missing limb. I guess they took "creative license" with the rape to get her character arc back on track.

If you remember from season 1 when Eddard and Catelyn were in King's Landing, it was disclosed that Littlefinger was friendzoned by Catelyn. During the tourney, Littlefinger told Sansa that: "she looks just like her mother". Put 2 and 2 together and you see where this arc is going...

For the assholes that want to yell at me for "spoilers", it isn't spoiling if you diligently watched the series. You can go back and rewatch those scenes if you want. As I said, I took notes reading this series because the plot got so complex.

If you want a real spoiler...
I can't wait to see Tywin and Shae have sex.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I'm cool as long as everything is kept in a spoiler box and the logic jumps are not to big without the help of the books!

Did anyone think it was weird they turned the twincest into rape in this episode? In the book it was consensual, and involved period blood ("moon's blood")....

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

I drew a blank as to why they aged Tommen so much but now I know why but it will lead to a horrible "climax" later. In the books, Tommen is supposed to be prepubescent when Margaery marries him [pedophile?] while she still has her maidenhead. When they get married, he can't bed her because he well...yep. I can at least comprehend why Dave and Dan took creative license and changed it because it would be a lot for the public if Margaery was to marry a 10-year old. Still, readers of the books know what event I am precluding to and why aging Tommen will sour said event.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

So what ever became of scumbag Walder Frey? I can't believe that he can get by with the Red Wedding and then not get anymore attention. He should have a big target on his ugly face. I don't want to know what exactly will happen later if you know from the book (please no spoiler). But I am curious to know if he does return to the story.

If anything, just leave this thread alone and start a non-spoiler thread. The way it's written is just inviting spoilers. HBO-Song of Fire and Ice.

It's getting intermingled. Ooops!

Start a non-spoiler thread.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

You are such a "casual watcher."
Don't know why you would say that. Walder has made zero appearance, nor has been mentioned at all in season 4. No mention ever since Tywin gave him Riverrun for the red wedding deal he made with him last season. I don't read the books, but that does not make me a casual watcher of the show. I just would like to see eventually what he has coming to him.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

He has.

Here is Arya's list (so far).

Joffrey
Cersei
Walder Frey
Meryn Trant
Tywin Lannister
The Red Woman
Beric Dondarrion
Thoros of Myr
Ilyn Payne
The Mountain...
The Hound

(According to HBO.)

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

Has he made Arya's hit list?
No doubt; it would be awesome to see her personally get her revenge. But nothing has indicated as much. Unless something happened in the last episode that I haven't seen yet. I sense you are luring me into book spoilage territory so I think I will stop here with this conversation.
