I watched it a second time. I think they got all the background story out of the way, his ex wife, his kids, why he is doling this. etc, bla bla bla. Now I think with his new pimp to help him find clients the stories can become fun and hopefully more erotic.
By the way, $50 bucks??? was that the consolation prize or all he is worth?

I have a feeling this show is gonna grow on us and good things are cumming.

I also think, although I like Thomas Jane, I would have Loved Eddie Cibrian to have played the role.

At first I thought this looked like a cheap, desperate attempt to boost ratings and HBO sales. But after seeing the preview, I think it could be good. It needs to focus on the reality of his situation more than the actual sexual content.

Lame show. And really, Thomas Jane has zero charisma and not enough acting ability to pull this off. I agree with TalkintotheRain when he said other networks (namely Showtime) are doing the "HBO thing" better than HBO. Showtime currently has one of the best shows on the air (Weeds) and two very good ones (Dexter and Nurse Jackie) while HBO has...guy with big dick?

But I dont think Weeds is that Amazing. IMO US of Tara and Dexter are showtime's best. HBO fails with this mess but at least they have True Blood.

Why did they choose to make the son into that type of character instead of some hunky babe? The missed the boat on that one.

Yeah, the premiere was all over the place. It lacked focus, IMO Too many writers and corporate influence, if I had to guess.

It has promise, if the 'powers that be' will just leave the writers alone to craft something plausible.


Thomas Jane is *very* easy on the eye, and can act surprisingly well...

Give it a few weeks, it might take 'root'.

I watched the pilot episode and also thought it was boring. It put me to sleep. The show is worth watching for the eye candy though. I hope the show gets better now that the storyline was wrapped up in the pilot episode.
Let's hope it gets better. HBO needs a decent show. Can't wait for Curb Your Enthusiasm to come back in Sept on HBO. That's the best comedy show on TV. Larry David is the best. Before this show he was great as the co-creator of Seinfeld with Jerry Seinfeld.

I also wish Swingtown would be revived on cable TV. That show was great. Grant Show was very hot on the show. He still looks as good as he did on his Melrose days. I can't believe they're reviving Melrose Place. First 90210 now Melrose Place. How about some new and original programming CW.
