HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

Bringing Hoyt's anal retentive piece of shit mother and that gooey sweet bitch who was stuck on Hoyt...it was so forced, almost like a skit parodying True Blood.Lafayette should be communing with Biblical Jesus than hottie Wiccan Jesus, great a character for the gay community he is,as Nelsan plays him,too much extraeneous stuff is being added which just leaves less room for tighter storylines and maximum viewer attention.Saving him was a mistake. With a pathetic hypocrite of a mom that Tara has wonder she made it this far intact.Bad Sam is NOT catching on....edge is one thing, but he's on the verge of losing the humanity that despite all his terrible past hurt still keeps him centered.Lose the baby, already Arlene....and her wussfriend is so annoying it would have been one exception that I would have gladly made for Sam to without a reflection blow him away.Hopefully Tommy is wiser now,not dead after Sam DID actually shoot.I love a little camp,a little fun self-acknowledging winking....but please Alan Ball.No more unfocused self indulgence...or there will probably not be a demand for a fifth season.

i want jason to have a power...a sex power or something, more undie shots, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! (maybe he has to fool around with eric next season)

Remember season one he was a sex addict. What happened to that plotline?

I dont know get why book purists want to get rid of Lafayette so bad. He is a fan favorite on the TV show, so he stays. Plus his story is better than most. And this is a gay message board. Why do people so desperately want to get rid of the one gay character when there are far more annoying characters to get rid of?

I had Tara previous seasons, but she's finally come into her own.

I'm prolly in the minority but I dont think Sookie and Eric have chemistry and I'm dreading when they get together.

Sookie and Eric don't have chemistry. She's a bitch and he's an asshole, so half thier relationship is going to be sex and getting into trouble while Sookie screams her head off and he almost gets her killed. Lafayatte is too queeny ( Go figure, Talbot was a bigger queen and people wanted him to stay on the show) So he's gotta die I guess?? And Tara is a bitch yes, but she's still a MAIN character. Alan's not going to kill two black main characters because some of you find them annoying.

And the reason why this finale sucked? Jason's storyline. His storyline is like a totally different show and I don't care about Crystal or Hotshot, or a football player he's jealous of that has nothing to do with the main story. It feels like Jason is getting all the screen time and his storyline is AWFUL. I want to see vampires and stuff.

I hope Sophie-Ann kills Bill lol I like Bill, but Sophie Ann is too sexy to KILL!

Was I the only one hoping that after Joe Manganiello (Alcide) dropped off Eric and Bill, that he would go home to Sookie and... fuck her? Would love to see him unclothed. :D

And the season finale was... bleh....... blehhh

And I think that doll in Hoyts house is some witch craft thinger-ma-bob, probably leading to another plot. I'm guessing one of the witches, Jesus or what's-her-name-again, will be involved.

^ I needa see Alcide naked too. But I'm tired of everyone fucking Sookie. She's annoying and not that cute. But I guess there's no other prospects. Tara is done with Supes and Jessica is taken. I hope Deb isnt a fixture on the show. She is way to busted to be in the same room as Alcide.

"What in the Helllllllllll happened to this season?" - Russell

Mmm hmm...

I know what you mean. Don't get me wrong, I LUV the woman that plays Hoyt's mom, but that scene fell flat.

I get that they were taking a shot at "Intervention", I get that... But it stretched credibility in a season that stretched credibility just a little too far... And anyway, since Jessica fed off of her, shouldn't she be having more positive feelings toward Jessica ? Even sexual ones ? Or does that just work the other way around ?

Ahh well, I still look forward to next season. ;)

^ i think this scene was hillarious :) they often don't take everything too serious .. just have a look at the jasun as the old god scene in season 2 :D

Hmmm, I was REALLY pissed that they made Calvin Norris some dirt bag that gets killed. Hope they don't screw up Niall Brigant.

I loved Russel, an amazing actor Dennis O'Hare is, too bad he's "dead" too... The Queen was also a pretty stunning actress.

I still love what they did with Alcide, good thing he's going to be a regular next season.

That's about it.
Tara, being inconsistently all depressed off and on, is starting to get annoying.
Bill and Eric, let's not even talk about them.
This Lafayette Jesus thing is just dragged out and serves no purpose whatsoever. I don't dislike the two because they're gay, I dislike the fact that they're only in the series because they're gay.
Hoyt and Jessica is cute, but also a bit contrived, but that doll thing was creepy.
And what else? Oh! Sam, totally out of character, shoots his brother.
Who was annoying.

I'm only watching TB out of habit now.

neither lafayette and jesus were in the show only because they were gay. lafayette has always served a purpose on the show, and they revealed the reason for jesus, but if you don't look past the gayness, you would never find that out

I don't even think the actor who portrays LaFayette is even gay in real life. Never saw a clip of the guy, but from live event photos he looks pretty straight to me.

I can't wait anymore.

Lol... like what purpose... gasp Jesus is a witch and now Lafayette can see things too because they took V together..... Please... that's the cheesiest nonsensical subplot I've ever heard in my life. The reason why characters who aren't mains in the book are annoying is because they don't have consistent development for these characters. This includes Tara, Tommy, Lafayette, Jesus etc. If they did a better job, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

lafayette, as has been pointed out in many reviews. Is sort of like the voice of the audience. He says a lot of shit we are thinking. He grounds a lot of shit, and is also great comic relief.

Jesus fits into one of the books in Charlaine Harris series. He isn't in the books themselves, but because the producer has added a lot of extra characters, it is ok. He is the male Holly.

Holly was introduced for the same reason. She is a witch (i think they revealed that?) and will play a big part in next season. Just like Jesus. But her role isn't questioned because she is a straight female.

Oh, I should tell you, this next season is all about witches and magic.

I know the creator of the show likes to let developments span seasons and over time. They introduced Jesus early, one: to give Lafayette a much needed love interest, and two: to set up next season. Tara's storyline is pretty similar to the books. She is bad with men, and has yet to find a good one yet. I will agree though, that last season had too many storylines.

From Paleyfest...

New in Season 4? "Gary Cole, witches, more humans, a handful of more shifters, a new werewolf, a couple more humans... and a child," says Alan Ball.

The theme for Season 4? Duality of existence? Man vs. Nature? The terrors of intimacy? "It's just True Blood," says Ball. "An escapist, emotional, terrifying journey."

A scene from Season 4 reveals that Pam, Jessica and Hoyt will team up against a group of rowdy vampire haters. It's now "a post-Russell Edgington world."

Is Alcide still hung up on Debbie? "She's still alive and at large so you never know," says Joe Mangianello.

Can Lafayette trust Jesus? "You can never trust anyone too much," teases Kevin Alejandro.

How long can Hoyt and Jessica expect to be happy? "The fairytale can't go on forever, but maybe reality is better," shares Deborah Ann Woll. "Hoyt's mom remains awful."

Rene and Arlene's baby is, in fact, evil... but not a vampire. Says Preston, "The last we left it, her baby was on board, and that problem grows exponentially."

What happens with Jason? "He should not be looking after an entire village of meth addicts," cracks Ryan Kwanten.

Will Andy be on V? "A lot of V came into the station toward the end of last season. And you know, that's where he works!"

Will Sam find love this season? Shares Trammell, "I got another shot. I'm at bat again!"

Where did Tara go at the end of Season 3? According to Rutina Wesley, "You'll find out early on where Tara went." Also, "We'll see a new Tara. A lot more stable. She might find some happiness."

When Eric returns, he's a lost man. Literally. He loses his memory because "he messed with the wrong people," shares Alexander Skarsgard.

"Eric doesn't know who he is anymore. The powerful character he was is just gone. Thousands of years of human resentment... gone." Alexander Skarsgard says the change has been "a blast."

Rutina: "I'd love to see some Tara and Pam action." Alan Ball: "You will."

How does the bite-off between Bill and Sophie Anne end? No one's saying. "It's not just the two of them involved," Alan Ball says.

Now that Sookie has joined Claudine, can she control her microwave fingers? "No, but she's new to this fairy stuff," shares Paquin.

Gary Cole and Fiona Shaw will guest star this season. According to Alan Ball, Shaw will play "a witch, among other things."

Are Bill and Sookie toast? Shares Ball, "That betrayal is so deep I don't think there is any way back from that. Hopefully we'll have 17 more seasons."

There are definite plans to bring back the King, played by Dennis O'hare. "He is gonna be PISSED!" teases Ball.

Will True Blood accurately portray Wicca? "The way into the witchcraft story is through a circle of wiccans... but there is a more evil force. We've tried to preserve the traditions of Wicca as much as we can."

Thanks for the True Blood spoilers. Got anything else? —James
NATALIE: Remember that creepy doll we saw at Jessica and Hoyt's new home in the season finale? "I can tell you that the doll is more than just a doll," executive producer Alan Ball tells us. "That doll has a passenger."

^ Okay Eric's storyline sounds the most intriguing; Jason's sounds like it'll continue being shitty.

But once again, that looks like a shitload of storylines crammed into one season and that was what put me off in in S3. None of the characters or their stories were properly developed.

Anyway, I'm surprised that I'm actually looking forward to True Blood this year. Last year, after S3 ended, I was so annoyed. Same goes for S2. I always keep coming back for more tho.

It's like a dirty little pleasure you can't tear yourself away from. Even when it isn't as pleasurable as you had hoped. You always have to try again.
