Marry Ann is a "maenad" which you could say is similar to a succubus. "They indulged in copious amounts of violence, bloodletting, sexual activity, self-intoxication, and mutilation." I don't really want to type a long post out about the full history of them and Dionysus.

She was so crazy in the books though! Tonight was a really good premiere. I feel bad for the homophobe who got torn apart by Eric, the blood splattering all over Lafayette! Eek.

If the show did, it wouldn't last more than maybe two seasons. Alan made the show his own. In a recent interview he stated that the book series is a great standalone, and I agree. I may not have read the series yet, but I would hate to watch a show where I could learn every aspect from the books. It would be much quicker that's for sure. I wouldn't be waiting weekly for a new episode because I'd be able to just read the series in that one week. No point in coming back when I know how the story ultimately ends..

Personally, I'm glad that Ball isn't sticking to the books. He's doing what I wish I could do everytime I read a good book. He gets to answer the question of "what if?" He can take the raw material, and make something completely original.

The second-season premiere of “True Blood,” drew 3.7 million total viewers Sunday, the biggest audience for a scripted series on the network since “Sopranos” ended.

That was more than double the 1.4 million who tuned in for the season one premiere last year, and it was up 51 percent over the show’s first-season finale.

It was the most-watched show on HBO since “Sopranos” drew nearly 12 million two years ago. Even the show that premiered after “Sopranos,” the short-lived “John From Cincinnati,” managed only 3.4 million viewers.

Tonight's episode was fun. Next week looks awesome!

Sookie is such a stupid bitch. Why would she take Jessica back home? That was a disaster waiting to happen. LoL @ the look on her face when Bill told her to shut the fuck up and get out. Stupid girl.

I'm confused about Lafayette. I remember reading that he won't be turned into a vampire, but the last we saw of him in tonight's episode, three vampires were sucking him dry. They can't just leave him there to die, so the only other alternative is for them to turn him. Right? Anyway, that scene with him and the severed leg was beyond disgusting.

I can't figure Maryann out. She thrives on sex and has the ability to make everyone else around her horny. She's like some kind of evil sex goddess, LoL. Very interesting, and I can't wait 'til we learn more about her. LoL @ her crazy vibrations making Sam turn into a dog. She did the same thing when he was younger and they had sex. I guess she's into bestiality. Nasty bitch!

I'm ready to see more of Daphne. Ashley Jones sucks on The Bold & The Beautiful, but I can see her fitting into this show pretty well. Her character is supposed to have some sort of secret (something to do with her skin) and I'm interested in seeing what that is.

As for Sookie, I think she's still trying to cling to her innocence. Taking Jessica to the parent's house just demonstrates how much she still doesn't understand the differences between the vampires and humans.
