HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

Um, saw the first episode of season 2, and just saw the 2nd episode last night.

:luv: all of it!!!

Were you waiting breathlessly with anticipation, Joshy? :p

I totally thought Jason and that other religious dude were going to make out, or Jason was going to wake up in the middle of the night getting a blowjob from him. Possibly wishful thinking, but meh.

I also didn't read any of the above spoilers, so shoot me if I shoulda known ;)

There are so many hot men in this show it's ridiculous.

Sookie's going to catch hell from Bill for bringing that stupid Jessica to her parents' house. I bet he has to turn them all into vampires (save the little girl, possibly) to protect himself and her. But then again, Eric wants to take Sookie to Dallas - with or without Bill's permission - and I think that will occur in the next episode.

And  to that sales lady thinking Bill and Eric were a former gay couple...this show has so many homoerotic undertones, you'd think religious groups would start thinking vampires and gays are the same...

Finally, I heart True Blood.

I thought Corny was a bot!!! : O

The second season is here! The second season is here! The second season is here!!

As of yesterday I'm all up to date. I like how it seems all of the characters have their own thing going on this season. It's a nice change from everybody being all tangled together in one big storyline.

I'm super giddy for Hoyt+Jessica. I thought he was underused last season, and I felt sorry for his character after Renee died and Jason went all Jesus.

Hoyt is delicious..i never noticed his scrumpticiousness until tonights episode.

Lafayette said "i cant come in unless i invite you in Eric" but thats not true because Eric could glamour him into letting Lafayette invite him in the same way Bill glamoured the little girl last week.

Vampire rules keep changing.

I like Hoyt even more because of this episode. I really wish that they would kill mary ann off the show, or speed up the process with her storyline. I love the fact that Eric is obsessed with Lafayette. And Jessica is gorgeous.

Glamouring's effectiveness depends on the strength of the targets mind. That's why Bill glamoured the little girl. Obviously a child is easier to glamour than an adult. Lafayette one would imagine has a strong mind and thus more difficult to glamour. And Sookie with her telepathy, can't be glamoured at all.

Yes, "Hoyt" is kinda hot. In reality, the guy that plays him is a classically trained actor who is *nothing* like the character he plays...

That much can be said for most of the cast... (Except maybe "Jason") ;)

*Major* props to whoever picked Marcy Playground's "Sex and Candy" to play when Jessica walked into Merlotte's for the first time. The perfect choice.

This show seriously *rocks* ! The writing and the acting are amazing.

The dialogue:

"When vampires first came out of their coffins, me and my sister were first to march in their equal rights parade.."

HOW could I have thought this entire show was a metaphor for gay rights, nadawon80 ? I was SO off base.

The show has taken more of a comedic twist that I like. And I keep thinking something bad is going to happen to Jessica. I like her but I get nervous for her character when she comes on.

the real party pooper was bill ;)

so .. what about daphne? turned by a minotaurus-gargoyle-crossover?

I find Jessica kind of annoying. She takes away from my favorite characters. She seems to get more screen time than Tara and Lafayette.

Just the thought of Sam skinny dipping....:sex:

And I'm with ya Corny and Epic, Is Daphne a victim or a victimizer?

Jason and the church lady. :p

Best line of the episode:

My wife doesn't just whip her pudding out for anybody.

I can proudly say I've always found Hoyt attractive, more so than Jason. (Don't kill me!) Tonight really helped me deepen my attraction with his shirtless scene and hitting it off with Jessica.

Hoyt deserves a good girl, not Jessica in my opinion. She's a fresh vampire who can't control her actions. Don't get me wrong, I love Jessica's character and I hope she's around for a while as I am taking a shining to her nicer side, but she isn't the girl I want to see Hoyt with.

Daphne said we'd get a glimpse of what she is by looking at the tattoo on her. I still don't know what it is other than the claw marks on her back which I do not believe is what she was referring to in her interview.

In both cases, the vampires could see the people they were trying to glamor. The door was open and Bill could see the girl. Eric was staring into LaFayette's window. I bet if you were behind a wall or out of sight of a vampire it could not force you to let it into your home.

Lafayette can practically glamour people on own already so I think glamouring him would be a big challenge. I'm so glad he shaved.

Also I'm glad Hoyt's getting his sexy on! His character was fading away for a bit.

So apparently Mary-Anne feeds off other peoples sexual energy and I guess she store it in the pig or her pigs a symbol or something.

That thing that attacked Sookie was pretty cool. If it's poison can stop a human from accepting vampire blood imagine what it would do to a vampire.

i think what attacked sookie was a minotaur.

the claws just were not very minotaur-like .. well we will learn more soon i hope .. god damnit .. talk about a tense start of a season. i have not experienced this with any other series lately!

Yep.

I can't think of another show on TV right now that can keep me transfixed for a full 60 minutes....

It's nothing short of brilliant film making. I love Alan Ball. I didn't think he could top "Six Feet Under", but damn if he isn't getting close.

I can't wait until the next episode.

Nobody has mentioned my favorite scene this year. It was when Eric went in the basement with foil in his hair. I guess Pam was coloring it. After he chewed up that guy, he asked Lafayette if there was blood in his hair and said that Pam would kill him.
