HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

Does anyone else feel that the MaryAnn storiy line is distracting to the vampire theme. I am getting tired of her. Also, on the last episode, I was getting tired of all the romance. It was like a soap! Although the scene where Jason got the handjob was hot.

I think it would be hot to see Eric hook-up with Godric. I get the impression that vampires all kind of bi. Anne Rices' more than Harris'. In book #8 Pam hooks up with Sookie's female roomate.
They are moving that Maryann storyling awfully slow. I wish they would speed it up personally, but the writers could be waiting till Sookie is back in Bon Temp before the storyline goes anywhere big.

Who knows?

Did anybody else go to Comic-Con? I got some awesome close-up shots of the stars (Anna Paquin was looking straight at my camera! Alexander Skarsgard is very slender in person)...

The panel was cool -- apparently, HBO is manufacturing a real True Blood drink (blood orange soda), but the audience questions were CRAPPY! They should really screen the questions at these things.

Oh, and the trailer was pretty sweet.

^ *Great* pics, Whatever ! (!)

I'm jealous how close you were !

Thanks for sharing them....

Those pictures are phenomenal, YW! Thanks for sharing! :=D:

That trailer was friggin' awesome!!! I know that both Tara and Eggs' eyes became black, which we've seen before around Maryann's parties, but I wonder what that exactly means.

The new trailer makes it look like that bitch Lorena kills Jessica!

I musta missed that, Kenny. Where in the trailer did you see that?

(and omg thanks for posting it too )

The bull mask is interesting, too. I thought Maryann would literally turn in to the creature (which it may be explained later...)

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the pics! It was really exciting! I almost was able to get into the TB cast signing, but they capped the line when I got to the front. And when I say "line," I mean "mob," because it was the most disorganized thing ever. Maybe next year if they're there again.

And I guess Evan Rachel Wood is supposed to play the Queen (of Louisiana)?

I am watching there comic con panel this year on youtube, and I must say. It's funny hearing their real voices.

All of them have none southern accents, but pull out perfect southern accents on the show. And then Alexander Skarsgard who has one of the few none southern accents in the show, has a natural southern accent.

I wish Ryan Kwanten was there on the panel, but I guess he was busy?

I just looked it up and it's true. But weird that Eric on the show is over 1000 and is a Sheriff, but the Queen will only be 400.

Guess it doesn't really matter. Or Eric could follow the ideas of his maker who is over 2000 but nothing more than a sheriff as well.

You know. It'd be awesome if they made Alexander the Great a vampire in the books or the show.

Never read the books, she could have done this. But just imagine a character like that.

I hope nothing happens to him either. I'm also kinda worried about Hoyt and Jessica now that this Lorena chick is back.

Yeah, I haven't heard Anna Paquin speak with a non-Southern accent in a while. And I wasn't sure what kind of accent Rutina Wesley has, since I haven't seen her in anything but True Blood.

From what I heard, Alexander Skarsgard spent some time in Texas growing up. Also, he is shooting a film called Straw Dogs, which is set in the South, which I guess explains the accent. He has a pretty neutral accent on the show, so it's weird that he really does have an accent.

As for the episode, Daphne is the pig? I didn't see that coming. Watching the trailer again, Sam turned into a bat or something, so I guess it's possible to shift into more than one form.

And surprise, surprise -- another orgy!

Yeah, Rutina Wesley has a white girl accent which was/wasn't surprising to me.

Nelsan though, the guy who plays Lafayette, the voice he does on the show is his real voice, and he moves like the character as well. I guess he didn't have to stretch his acting out too much.

Tonights episode though was really good. I wonder how he knew that Sookie and that other guy were plants? He must have a spy inside Godric's clan. Probably how he nabbed Godric in the first place.

This next episode is going to be really good. I can't wait. And thank God the Maryann plot is going somewhere. Can't wait for next week!

Tonight was fantastic. Literally every different scene and storyline was actually interesting.

I love how last week we got our first taste of another telepath and this week we have our first (so far) human/vampire relationship that's like Sookie and Bill's. I liked Hugo. The actor was pretty hot. Hope whatever the Newlins have going on doesn't get him killed.

Speaking of Reverend Newlin, the comment he made about a mind reader is really interesting because it would seem to suggest that maybe Barry was a plant at the hotel. But im conflicted on that because it didn't seem like it, despite the fact that he conveniently turned up missing the next morning. If Barry isn't the spy or one of them, then how does Steve know about telepaths is what I want to know.

For whatever reason I don't really trust Sarah. See seems unstable to me. I feel like if she doesn't somehow get herself killed she will get Jason into trouble. I hope they don't go the predictable route and have Steve accidentally kill his own wife.

Finally the stuff with Maryanne gets really interesting. It got that way last week but this week was even better. What exactly are her plans for Sam I wonder because it cant be that he's a shapeshifter since Daphne is and she already knows about her.

I don't know how I feel about Bill's maker being back. So far I'm not loving the character or actress.

How cute was it when Terry defended and comforted Lafayette?

Next Sunday can't get here fast enough!

Hmmm, Barry as a plant is a good idea, but he didn't know of the plan for them to infiltrate the church. Or at least, I didn't think he did. That makes no sense really.

It seems like all the top vamps around Godric know that Sookie is a telepath, so one of them could have told.

What if Hugo's vamp (forget her name) is the spy for Newlin? Makes no sense as she is a vampire, but she would also have the same connection to Hugo as Bill to Sookie and I didn't see her show up. Then again, she prob knew this could happen and was ready for it.

Seems like Eric knew it could happen and sent in Lorena to tether Bill down to prevent him from helping Sookie.

I thought about Lorena only being around to prevent Bill from getting to Sookie because for whatever reason it seems like they're trying to build to Eric and Sookie as a couple. I guess I don't mind it but the way they are going about it so far is far too pathetic.

I have a thought on your theory that Isabella is the traitor. Either she and Hugo are in on it together for reasons unknown to me at this point or Hugo is the traitor himself. I think this because I just finished watching the episode again and when Sookie is reading his mind it seemed like he was trying really hard to get the message that he loved Isabella across the way he was repeating it because he knew that she would read it. I don't know, it felt really fishy to me.

It also kind of lends credence to your comment about Isabella not showing up to help Hugo when he was in trouble. Again, maybe because they are in on it together.

I love Isabella for some reason. I hope she isnt the mole. Her not coming for Hugo doesnt necessarily mean anything. Remember the only reason Sookie and Bill have that connection is because that crazy couple almost killed Sookie last season and Bill made her feed off of him so she would live. After that he said that he would always feel her and no when she was in trouble.

I kinda didnt like the Lorena parts. Except when she said " We can fuck prohibition some more."

I'm thinking the mole is Hugo. Maybe it's a way to get back at Isabel for not turning him while he's still young. That might be too obvious though.

And I'm not crazy about Lorena either. It just doesn't seem like the right time to bring her in, with the whole Maryann and holy war storylines. Maybe I'd enjoy her character more if there wasn't already so much going on this season.

I'm confused about one thing from tonight's episode.

Why did Pam show up with the bottle telling Lafayette he's back in business? Why does she want him to start dealing V again?

Just about anything Pam does is on behalf of Eric, so Eric must want to know who in and around Bon Temps is buying the V. Knowledge of who is using/abusing would come in very handy when your whole world is nothing but manipulation and survival, and it seems all Eric does is pull the strings. Calling in Lorena, she's nothing but trouble. Remember how she found Bill in the first place? When he takes a closer look around her house and see's all her empty bodies stuffed up in the rafters, he should have known not to get mixed up with anybody who can't take out the trash.

Sarah Newlin: She's turning out more crazy every episode and I luvs it. When you speak to god, religious, when he speaks back, crazy.

Daphne is pissing me off. Leading Sam straight to MaryAnn, her being that fat ass pig, Sam needs to shift into a cheetah and run far away from that!

Lafayette please get your swag back. Cowering beside the dinner rolls is never a good look.

My question, where the fuck is Barry?
