HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

I'm probably in the minority, but as much as I like the Godric/vampire stuff, I find the Maryann plot more interesting. We all know she is batshit crazy. And how do you kill a maenad or god or demi-god or whatever it is that she is? It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I don't really care for her character b/c I didn't think it was going anywhere, but now it seems next week, it'll hit whatever head it needs to hit. This episode, they were just trying to figure their shit out.

OMG, somebody needs to explain what Sookie did to Maryann. Looks like Eric might be coming to the rescue, but why is Sam asking for help and not Sookie? And OMG, I was sure Bill was referring to his maker when he said he knew of one vampire who might know how to beat Maryann because of his flashback.

^ They are gonna kill me with these Sookie fantasies w/ Eric...I was like yes, this is not a dream lol. What do you think happened to Bill when he tried to drain Maryann? I'm still trying to figure that out and what other power Sookie has.

I think it's just cuz she's a maenad, her blood is some kind of poison.

Apparently the Stackhouses are part Faerie, which explains Sookie's telepathy and Jason's hotness/man-whoreishness. Why she can hurt her, I don't know, but maybe the two will team up to kick her ass.

^Yeah, remember when Sookie got scratched? And her blood was black when Bill bit her. She probably has poison flowing through her veins.

Yeah. SPOILER ALERT!!!!

In the books, Sookie's bloodline has fairy in it, which is why she has her powers, and her brother in near irresistible. No doubt, she has some extra fairy juice when dealing with creatures like that.

Seems Sam goes to Eric for help. Bill isn't going to be all that happy.

Another one of those episodes where clearly what's coming next is better/more important so the current one qualifies as filler. But still enjoyable none the less.

"That's the last drink I'll ever take."-Best line of the night. That whole scene, awesomeness.

I loved how characters who don't routinely get all that much screentime, let alone time to shine (like Terry, Andy, Lettie Mae, and Lafayette) really got that chance tonight.

I'm searching my brain for a solution to the Maryanne issue. How do you kill someone that is immortal? I mean, I know that say that about vampires but if you can be killed by sunlight, or any other way, then clearly they aren't truly immortal. Since this is the only storyline left I guess I have to get on board with it, as much as I'd like it to just be OVER.

Hoyt would be so much better off without his terrible mother. I don't think Jessica will kill her but I have to wonder what that would do to the relationship if she does.

I so forgot about the queen of Louisiana and squealed once I realized that was who Bill was going to go see.

Can't wait!

My nomination for best line of the night: "There's a new waitress at Merlotte's?!" And Maxine blasting monsters on the Wii was pretty hilarious.

I found the Jason and the Fellowship storyline pretty tiring, and I'm glad it's over. At the end, they were just a bunch of vampire-hating humans, and they did cause some serious damage, but Maryann seems much more, threatening and ominous than the FoTS. Plus, I love watching Michelle Forbes on screen. I'm thinking/hoping there's gonna be a pretty big payoff in the finale.

That was a good line as well, lol.

You know, now that it's all over I do think the FoTS storyline was a bit of a letdown if only because I assumed, especially with both Sookie and Jason involved, that it was going to turn out to be a lot bigger than it was. And maybe it will be down the line. It's not like the Newlins suddenly gave up.

And I do like Michelle Forbes myself and I do agree that she and her storyline are far more menacing than I ever gave it credit for but something about it for me is really off. It's like because it's taking place on True Blood I'm forcing myself to be interested but if it were on any other show, and I really wish that it was, I wouldn't care.

Hopefully you're right and there will be a really big payoff. Otherwise it's been an annoying distraction that I hope they learn from when season 3 rolls around.

I'm with you in the minority then because I like the Maryann stuff too. Most other people here seem to hate it. But I find it really entertaining and very scary. Even though it's a show about vampires, not many other elements to the show are scary. That's one of the things I love about her storyline. The faces and looks that the actress makes scare the shit out of me.

I think what I find "off" about the Maryann plot is that she relies on the townies too much. I'd much rather see her cause chaos instead of some random possessed people. Well, with the exception of Arlene and Terry. But I don't wanna see Jane Bodehouse or the blonde, dirt-eating girl anymore!!!

And another thing we can surprisingly all agree on -- too many orgies. But I understand that the writers maybe needed to give her something to do. Maybe they could have held back on just one.

I agree, not much about the show is deeply scary, but Maryann disturbs me. The look she gave Tara when she was dancing around the bonfire is stuff of nightmares. And don't get me started when she has the bull mask on

You have to love when sam transforms and then returns to human form naked
This weeks apron was no exception

I love when you watch it and realize how out of the loop sookie is about EVERYTHING going on in town.

She comes back and everyones nuts. Her house is taken over by a crazy demigod with a meat tree (rofl)
her best friend is posessed, and Sam is gonna be offered to some god. hahaha.

It's funny how seperate the stories can be. I love this show.
Tonight episode I enjoyed.

And Sam with his apron. <3
Yeah, I noticed that too.

Sam's ass looks amazing.

My god! This show keeps getting better and better.

Who is this queen Bill went to see? She must be a really old vampire because she had blood dripping down her legs. She must be older than Godrick.

I wonder exactly what other powers Sookie has? I'm sure Mary Ann won't be beat without her help.

I can't wait for the next episode! The suspense is killing me..:grrr:

She is the Queen of Louisianna.

The United States is seperated into Kingdoms. Each Kingdom is a state, and in each state they are seperated into areas which I am assuming are big cities and surrounding suburbs. But I might be wrong on that one.

Eric is actually older than the Queen of Louisianna. She is supposed to only be 400 apparently, but AB could have changed that.

Remember in the show when Eric said that Godric could have any kingdom he wanted, that he is the oldest in the new world? Godric was the oldest in the new world, I am going to limb it and say Eric is probably now the oldest, or one of the oldest.

I am confused about Queen Sophie's age, I have not read the books, but on the HBO boards some are saying she is only a few hundred years old...But I read somewhere that in the books she is portrayed as a 1100 year old vampire who died in her early teens.

I thought in the books she was only 400 as in the show?

Thank god for internet because college cable doesn't include HBO, ain't that a bitch. The episode was cool, tara's possession was creepy as hell. I'm pissed that they teased me with another dream sequence of sookie and eric.
