HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

Eggs was HOT. His replacement for Tara isn't doing it for me as well. :(

why do they do this?

I was going through some of the scenes from last night's episode, and I really like the interaction between Lafayette and Tara.

I agree neoachilles, their scenes together were great...|

I cant wait to see his relationship with Jesus unfold.;)

Yes. Tara (Rutina Wesley) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) are two of the reasons I got hooked on the show in the first season. Both very talented actors. They just pull you into their scenes with so much ease. I forget I'm watching a television show.

Just saw this posted at Sucks.
I was a finalist (just got notified the other day that I didn’t make it into the house) and I can describe a few of the people I saw at the Sheraton Gateway LAX hotel. I saw one Jewish kid wearing a yamaka type hat, a rock n’ roll guy with some tats, a really fat black girl, another older out-of-shape woman rocker type with tats up and down her left arm, a good looking black guy with dreads/braids that he kept up in a bandana, and then your pluthera of generic in-shape beautiful people types who were black and white. I don’t know any of their names because we weren’t allowed to speak to each other but I could see them by the pool from my room and from different appointments I attended. So basically you are right in that the house will once again be populated with beautiful with a couple of regular folks tossed in for good measure.

Pictures from the set of the finale...

Assuming that those screenshots are actually from the season finale, I'm not sure what's up with Godric's presence, given his flaming end in the last season. Perhaps it's a flashback scene to the World War II adventure with the Nazi werewolves?

As for yesterday's episode, I was amused by the very gay King of Mississippi and his boyfriend. Did you notice that he waited until the boyfriend was in the other room (calling for the Thai boy to be brought forth so that they could drain him for the next course) before he told Bill that he was planning to marry the Queen of Louisiana?

i'm just waiting for sookie and eric to hook up already!

I'm interested to see what happened with Jessica's dead guy...haha

also....what in the world was with that scene with Bill and Lorena?....do you think it was real?

also...did anyone else notice in the credits that the female werewolf was credited as "Were-Bitch".....gave me a little chuckle....so did when Sookie said she was waiting for Bill to come through the door and say "Sooo-keyyyy"

I thought that was really funny too.

I really hope the sex scenario between Bill and Sam happens!

Did anyone else get some kind of homoerotic undertones between Sam and his new younger brother too? Come on. Sam is gay. That shot where his younger bro (looking nice in those jeans) bends over into the hood of the car, all I could think about was Sam fucking him! And then they take off their shirts and Sam gives him that look. I know it's because of the scars, but come on.

An interview with Denis O'Hare (Russell Edgington) was posted on TVGuide.com yesterday and I thought it was pretty interesting. The actor gave some insight into Russell's ultimate goal(s) and his reason(s) for kidnapping Bill.
TVGuide.com: Tell me about the King of Mississippi.

Russell is the oldest vampire we've yet to meet, and is therefore the most powerful. His physical power is kind of staggering. At one point, a vampire attacks him and Russell twitches his shoulder and the vampire flies off him and hits the ceiling. He is beyond morality, an ancient Celt, 2,800 years old, a pagan. Certainly he's assimilated and evolved, but at heart he's a pagan druid creature, an earth-worshipper who's incredibly concerned with nature. Eventually, we'll hear his vision for the world, which is that humans need to step aside and let vampires rule because humans are squandering the earth and ruining their habitat.

TVGuide.com: What does the King want with Bill?

All Russell knows now is that the Queen wants Sookie; Russell wants to find out why. His eventual goal is to take over every state and become the first vampire president of the United States, and his first target is Louisiana. Russell wants to use Bill as a spy to gain insight into Sophie-Anne so he can blackmail her into marrying him. Along the way, he realizes that Sookie is actually the prize, and then he becomes obsessed with her.

TVGuide.com: How is he different from the Queen of Louisiana?

Russell is good with money. Sophie-Anne is childish; she doesn't know how to wield her power. Russell knows exactly how to wield his power. Sophie-Anne is cruel is a sort of off-handed way; Russell is cruel is an incredibly calculated way. They're both violent and autocratic, but Sophie-Anne is erratic. There's nothing erratic about Russell.

TVGuide.com: What's his relationship with the werewolves?

They work for him. He keeps them addicted to his blood, and they become addicts. He's done this for 1,000 or more years. Two things: You don't have to demand their loyalty; you have it. They're addicted to your blood. It's like mind control. The second thing is that you have a daylight set of eyes. These guys are able to be awake during the day.

Russell loves the werewolves. To him, it goes back to something very ancient. In the ancient druid culture, there are two animals that are twinned: the raven and the wolf. Russell's real name is a word for "raven" in an ancient Celtic tongue.

TVGuide.com: What else can you tease about upcoming episodes?

Russell is like a snake; he's incredibly calm and incredibly charming... until he rips your fucking spine out. My hands have been so bloody I've had to come home and soak them for a couple of hours.

hmm I wonder what kind of "gift'' eric will give to Lafayette? A car maybe? Nelsan said he and Jesus were going to be together so I'm sad :(

And If Eric has sex with Talbot I'm gonna cringeee. That dude looks straight up FUG lol

Moments like that are a huge reason why I love this show. The fun supernatural elements and sexy guys aside - you see clips like that and it takes you out of that whole magical/fantasy theme and the drama feels very real.

Personally, ever since Season 1 Lafayette has been the best character to evoke a "realism" into the show. He and Tara's mother are both great at setting that tone.

Definitely a great balance for TB. ..|

Onto the shallowness: Lafayette's new love interest is a hottie. Tara's new vamp love interest - not so much

I'm disappointed that they sucked the sex out of Eric and Godric's relationship. There was obvious sexual tension in the scene when Godric first made him. But now it's more like Eric is his son or little brother.

I recall feeling that way too, but I forget what the scene was like. Do you know which episode it was in, or could you jog my memory? Maybe that tension will come back somehow. It always seemed more brotherhood oriented than sexual, though, to me at least.
