HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

Okay, what do you think..one, maybe two more seasons?

On July 2, 2012, HBO announced that True Blood had been renewed for a sixth season that will premiere in June 2013.

OZ lasted six seasons (the fourth one went almost a year so it was like two seasons in one)

Six Feet Under lasted five seasons

The Sopranos lasted six seasons

Entourage lasted eight seasons but it was much cheaper to produce than True Blood

Carnivale only lasted two seasons

Re: HBO's "true Blood" [merged]

oh my god

the last episode.....bill at the end....braghrahh*falls off bed gurgling from epicness*

I have mixed feelings about the show which had it's highs and lows thats for sure, and sometimes it got a little to confussing for my taste. I think Lafayette said it best in his last scene when he said
"Sometines I just don't know what the fuck is going on here"

I know it was hit and miss but again, its True Blood and overall I enjoyed the whole season. There were some time killers, IMO, like the fire monster, etc but I think it was so they characters would be in the show but IMO, they could have easily giving them a vacation after the baby kidnapping and use that as an excuse for them to be absent for a while and put more focuse on better storylines. Im so glad Russell is dead, that was just a waste of time and so was the Authority mess IMO. I found myself enjoying the fairys and anything with LaLa in it the most. If Alcide isn't naked, I really didn't pay him any attention and I enjoyed watching Sam shift back and forth and naked. I just knew Sookie was going to try to zapp Bill or something. The reappearance of Bill was nice but not a WOAH moment. They would have done better not to show it, just show Eric and Sookie's reaction and hear Eric tell Sookie to run.

Wow, I got almost everything I wanted. All my least favorite characters killed off, in many cases deliciously (Salome's was a particular favorite). I guess I really didn't think they'd actually kill Bill. It'll keep me watching.

The thing with Jason was so out of right field that it was just dumb. He is bitten by Steve Newlin, and all of the sudden he can see his parents? So fucking stupid.

He's hallucinating because of his concussion. None of the parents stuff is real at all.

IDK why they left that bonus scene out of the finale.

Time, almost certainly. My guess is they'll put it in next season...or find some other way of revealing that Nora knows of Warlow.

The fact that Nora knows who Warlow is probably means that either Eric also knows of him/has something to do with it OR the Authority knew of him and he's a bigger threat than just Bon Temps.

Yep. Should be exciting.

I thought this season was ok. Looking forward though for season 3 of Being Human, though.

The next season is gonna be super confusing lol. I don't understand what the hell Bill is now. Nobody else could see Lilith so it seemed like she wasn't real and if she was real it doesn't make sense that Bill would become like her from drinking a small amount of her blood. I wanted to see Salome go out with some kind of fight. She should have smelled the damn silver in the blood or spit it out after she tasted it. Then she should have beat the shit out of Bill before he overtook her somehow lol.

Those stupid fairies should have figured out how to kill a vampire after being alive so long. They could have set Russell on fire easily. I did like the fight scene with Eric and his "sister" and the guards. I wish they had more vampire fighting like that. He slaughtered a bunch of them in seconds. I wonder why the other vampires never fly. You would think they would do it more often instead of running all the time.

^ I believe it was mentioned in the first season (maybe the second?), vampires achieve flight with age. The oldest ones on the show are/were mentioned as Russell (2800+), Godric (2000+), Salome (2000+), Eric (1000+) and Nora (600). We've seen all of them but Salome fly, so I think we can deduce she could fly as well.

I just didn't really care for the finale, except for shifters being revealed to the world. That should make things a little more interesting next season.

I was also pretty surprised to see Roman killed off this early in the series. At the same time, I think I expected more out of his character than what we've seen. I wasn't very impressed with the writing or portrayal of his character to date.

Christopher Meloni was a deciding factor in my finally checking out the show, so I was more than a little disappointed at his early demise. And I have to admit that this last season didn't have the same punch as the previous ones, but I am still absolutely loving the show. What sucks is that after watching all the seasons over the span of the last few months, I dunno what the hell I'm gonna do until JUNE!!!

I'm usually more of a wolf guy, but TB's are also a bit of a letdown. Well, if you don't count Alcide being ridiculously hot.

So...I gotta know. Am I the only one who had a bit of a crush on Russell? Loved the "horsey" scene with him and Steve.

My hopes for next season?
1. More Pam, Jessica & Lafayette
2. Less Sookie
3. As far as Eric and Alicide are concerned...LESS CLOTHING!!!
and lastly, with all the buildup, I REALLY hope they don't drop the ball with Warlowe.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind seeing the werewolves becoming a little more badass.

"Warlowe" is a backward anagram.

Think about it.

All will be revealed.

See ya in June of '13 for the 12 final episodes.

Is the show "True Blood" as good as they say?

Ok I have always loved the horror/thriller genre. And more importantly I have always loved vampires. And so with that being said. I realized that I have never watched A single episode of one of the most popular vampire shows out their True Blood. But I have always heard, and read about how great it is. And I have always wanted to watch it. But I never got the chance to catch it from the beginning. And so I was on Amazon A few minutes ago, and I seriously thought about ordering the complete first season DVD. But I'm kinda afraid to because I don't wanna order it, and get it home, and start watching it, and not like it. That would be A waste of money then.

I really wish that I could just watch the very first episode of season one. Just the first episode
just to see if I would like it. But I know the logical way of thinking is just watch the episode on the internet. And believe me I would if I could. But I can't. Reason why is because I have A very slow, crappy dial up connection. And it really does not allow me to watch any kind of video online. It takes me about 5 hours just to load A 3 minute video on YouTube for gods sake. And that's if it even loads at all.:(

So Should I just go ahead, and take A chance, and order the DVD off of Amazon. Or should I just hold my horses, and find some other way because I really wanna watch it. And please no spoilers for those of you who have seen it. And by the way, I have A big list of TV shows, and movies that I really wanna watch. And True Blood is near the very top LOL...|

And I apologize Mods if this is in the wrong section.:)

Re: Is the show "True Blood" as good as they say?

I thought the first season had interesting writing and a good premise, but it wasn't something that I felt I had to watch every week. I haven't watched since then. I don't really hear people raving about it anymore now that the fad of it is in the past. You could see if one of the streaming services offer it.

HBO GO has it.

i relate true blood season 1 to desparate housewives season 1.

both had a story long mystery arc, that was solved in 12 episodes, and then you get a resolution and then it has to find its footing again.

Love Chair - Or you could go to Blockbuster/Netflix and rent the first season. No reason to buy it.

Season Six trailer

Season Five Blu-ray/DVD May 21st

I'm still perplexed that season five isn't being re-run on HBO's main channel. Only on HBO2 at 11PM Sundays. It also was only On Demand for about a week way back in March. Really, HBO? Millions of dollars spent on a new season and you don't care enough about promoting it to properly re-run last season in primetime on your main channel (which is the only one many people have an HD version in)?
