Hi Guys,
I have a 32 inch "Hisense" brand HD tv that is appx 2 years old. For the last week, when I turn it on, it hesitates to broadcast a picture. It may flicker a picture momentarily, and go black, or stay black screened. It now takes 10 - 15 minutes for the picture to come on and stay on. Yes, I am making sure that it has been set on HDMI 1. Any theories?? Thanks for any insight that you may have.

What device is connected using the HDMI cable? Cable TV box, presumably? Does the TV have a built in tuner for free-to-air broadcasts? Do you get pictures immediately when using another input like the built in tuner?

I have it connected to satellite box. Not sure about free to air broadcasts.

Most common problem is power supply going bad. The capacitors dry out. Simple enough to cure if you are any good with a soldering iron and screwdrivers. Sadly in this throw away society that is normally what happens.

I can turn it on and in about 10 minutes, and it works fine! It needs a little warm up time though.

It sounds a bit like the LCD backlight might be dying. Unfortunately, with modern cheap TVs it's impractical to replace them - it's just cheaper to buy a new set.
