He told everybody he was going to do it. [Talk of Impeachment]

Re: He told everybody he was going to do it.

No one should be surprised at anything he's done. He's keeping his campaign promises. The people who voted for him all want this ban. He might have pulled it off too if it were implemented with a little more finesse.

My prediction is once he's done with all the executive orders and shoving his weight around and he has to get busy with the real and hard work of governing and actually working with people, he'll get frustrated or bored and resign.

It's too early to talk impeachment.

Re: He told everybody he was going to do it.

It seems the President does have wide latitude at managing immigration policy so this itself is not likely to be the straw that broke the camels back but if it is a sign of how he plans to run his administration I suspect he going to go too far pretty quick.

That may be, but to ignore a federal court order is incompatible with the President's oath of office. It would not be hard to cherry pick a federal appeals court to re verse the stay if you really look. Unless you know the answer would always be the same. This is the entrepreneur coming out. You can't run the country like Trump, Inc. where anything you say and do is the law, as it were. He needs to consult his people and they need to consider the consequences. Now he doesn't appear strong and decisive. No matter what he does, he's fucked. We're fucked. He ends up being stupid or dictatorial. Probably both. And this is the first week. There are 207 of these left to go...maybe.

Re: He told everybody he was going to do it.

People said wait until Trump does something. Don't believe 99% of the things he says, wait for his action. Well, he did put Christian first Mike Pence on the ticket. It is leaking out now that Trump will use executive orders to implement a "religious exemption" order allowing businesses to discriminate and fire LGBTQ people. He say he would and he is going to do it. An Indiana style religious freedom law is coming. Trump will lead it to appease his base.

And the gay people who voted for him, as well as all other protected minorities, will pretend they knew this was going to happen... before eventually they 'forget' having voted for the guy who deleted their human rights.

That's what happens when you vote to punish others without realising you too are a target.

No, there are a lot of people who voted for him who are pissed at him right now, for this:

People who have helped U.S. forces, whose lives were at risk then and now, are being turned away. It was bad enough that Obama's administration made it so hard for people who dedicated major portions of their lives to helping the U.S. to get here to safety and liberty, but Trump has, well, trumped that.

edit: Trump owes that family new plane tickets and a lot more.

Maybe.

But even on sites where people were rabidly in his favor, some are abandoning him. For example, on The Truth About Guns, where Trump was favored by about 49 out of 50, there are people now hoping he'll appoint some Second-Amendment-friendly judges and then have a heart attack.

Re: He told everybody he was going to do it.

Well he did say he would do what he's doing right now, so don't act like it came out of nowhere.... although, maybe it is a surprise that a candidate actually kept promises they made during the election.

If only Trudeau would do something about the promise he made that won him the election... since he thinks "the budget will balance itself," maybe he thinks that issue will deal with itself too?

B.S. He's been president less than two weeks. It was crystal clear from the campaign these are things he was going to do. If the people who voted for him don't support him now, they're either either idiots or hypocrites. They got what they voted for and they should be happy.

This, if he has supporters who are surprised and doesn't like what he is doing, they weren't paying attention at all. Nothing he is doing is surprising to the people who are informed and paying attention, it is just that seeing it in action is worse than when we were only imagining what he is doing.

Just like Harper, you use only the words that, taken out of context, make Trudeau look stupid and incompetent. Look up the entire quote. That is not what he said or meant at all.

If some "red" states start putting gay people on data bases, then on Sex Offenders Registries, and they start dropping dead in the streets because the anti-gay health care providers in those states will give them no treatment after anti-gay landlords have evicted them with nowhere to go, these people should also be happy they voted for him.

I never had any illusions about what things he may or may not do. The only surprise I have, at all, is how quickly this is happening. At least, before the election, those of us who were NeverTrumpers had the luxury of hoping he might not do some of this shit if he ended up being elected. I never really expected him to be the "stealth candidate" who would "go liberal" on some things (such as, perhaps, not being antigay...or actually working hard for Single Payer healthcare), but all hopes that it could AT LEAST POSSIBLY happen have now been dashed.

I've just grown to dislike Trudeau, mainly for his blatant contempt for my part of the country.

I think that has surprised most of the world, and he is completely oblivious to the carnage he's leaving in his wake.

I don't think any of his supporters ever imagined that his position on immigrants would stomp on people who helped us in Iraq who had already been approved to get here under the ridiculously tough Obama administration screening and bureaucratic hoops. This demonstrates that he doesn't think, in a way clear enough to get through the heads of some supporters who didn't see that because on the campaign trail there weren't such stark examples.

Well then I'll modify my comment: If the people who voted for him don't support him now, they're either idiots or hypocrites or plain stupid. They got what they should have known they were voting for if they had half a brain and were paying attention. They should be happy.

Yes. They CAN'T claim that they weren't warned.

Well, OK, they CAN claim that they weren't (because they're able to use a pen-and-paper, or a keyboard, or open their mouth...to form those words), but any such claim would simply be absurd.

And, of course, for some people the warnings were ignored, or just bounced off of them.
