FYI I am closeted but had an interesting discussion with my uncle. He LOVES George Michael and Elton John and always says "they may be fags but they make good music and are great singers"


I told him to watch George Micheals music video 'careless whisper'.

I said - " It was so obvious he was gay just looking at him and his previous videos with Wham, why did he have a girl in this video with him as his lover?"

People who've never had to deal with homosexuality in their own world have no idea what it's all about. But they can be educated. Maybe when you come out it will enable your uncle to learn how ignorant his current belief systems are. Maybe not, but you'll never know till you have the conversation.

He's in denial of the truth. The persistence is a sign of denial, whether he understood the concept of homosexuality or not. That's all.
