This is Frankie. Will is in a coma after sustaining a head injury. The doctors doubt he'll ever regain consciousness. Can anyone share any experience they may have had with comas, maybe involving family, loved ones? I'm really stressed out now and could use some advice.

I had a head injury and was unconscious for a week. The thing for you to remember first Willeboy is that it actually worse for you than him.
He feels nothing, no pain. Its the unknown that is worse. Family and paranoia kick in big time. But they care too and everyone's sensitivities are heightened.
'Doctors doubt' is saying they really don't know. So thats good there is hope and its hope that keeps us going.
The hard thing to learn with head-injury is its very slow recovery. Its not days or weeks but often months or more.
In my case it took 3 years to recover.
The best healing process is sleep for the brain,
Time is the next healer.
Do not kill yourself with worry and stress Willieboy because that will not help him recover. Time and sleep is the healer.
I hope you have support, you need it at this time.
I am as close as you computer, even-though we live time-zones apart.
God Bless! keep intouch.

This is a bit puzzling since your post history shows lots of activity in F&G all day.

Care to provide more information?

An Australian Rugby player is in a coma in South Africa at the moment. He was hit by a car.

If you are interested to read more. Google rugby player coma south africa or something.

My honey's dad had a work accident and suffered a lower basil skull fracture. He was out for 14days. during our visits we were encouraged to talk softly to him. After he woke up there was about a 4/5 delay in him as to who we were. We kept talking to him and then out of the blue he answered a question I had asked him like 10 days before.

THe best thing to to is stay focused, try not to get to stressed out. Talk, hold hands, rub his body were it is safe to. And hoping for the best.

My b/f dad made a ok recovery but now 5yrs later he has a 10yr jump start on Alzhiemeir's and Parkenson's.

He got it from all the scare tissue that formed on his temporal lobes in his brain. It is very hard to watch him go down hill from these deadly things. It stress's my honey out a lot, but I am always there to help in anything I can.

I would adivse you to read up on any and all info you can find on head injuries. By educating your self you will be ready for any sudden changes that may come. LIsten very carefully to all the doctors and therapy specialist.

and keep the faith...

Good luck and best of luck to your friend.........

My step-dad fell off of a house and was in a coma for several days. We didn't think he'd make it. Now, he's in a wheelchair with extensive spinal and brain injuries, but alive.

I think this was a (bad) april*s fool day joke ..

That's what I thought, too.

Head injury is not something to joke about. Someone should bop OP up side of the head.

Apparently it was. But it was one Will played on me. I kept hearing his voice whispering through the house. He was calling to me. I got freaked out and went to the hospital, but his body wasn't there. And the doctors and nurses had never even heard of him! He's hiding here in the house somewhere and laughing at me right now! I've decided not to bother looking for him, I'll just cook a nice big meal and smoke him out!
