Health News that Trump Doesn't Want You To Know

First time in over 30 years that there have been more than 1000 confirmed cases.

Welcome to the MAGA era of public health.

On the other hand, y'all are doing really well. Consider Canada with a 10th of the population and more than 1500 reported cases.

I don't know whether we will ever have a good count on the Texas outbreak. The Mennonites were very hesitant to take their children to the doctor unless they were running high fevers or were very sick, so most of cases were never tested and reported to the State.

And of course, the Ontario outbreak has been traced to a Mennonite gathering in New Brunswick. 🤦‍♂️

So far, the Ontario outbreak hasn't crossed borders. outside of the orthodox Jewish communities in NY, the State has a pretty good measles vaccination rate on the counties bordering Ontario (the exception being Jefferson Co at around 57%). NY had 3 new cases last week bringing their 2025 total to 7 cases. The new cases were in Orange County, in the Hudson Valley.

You probably heard that Trump and Vance want [white] women to have more babies.

That's what they say.

What they are doing is cutting Medicaid programs that pay for over 50% of the births in the US. They also cut the staff at HHS, the CDC and NIH who monitor newborn mortality and morbidity. These experts in government look at the data and make recommendation for newborn early detection programs.

What what they do, not what they say.

Every newborn in the US is supposed to have a hearing evaluation to identify deafness and hearing loss in newborns. Trump fired 7 of the 8 staff members on the team at the CDC who administered the hearing detection program. That layoff impacts 18 states that rely upon the Federal government to fund their hearing screening programs.

Mere hours after birth, most newborns are tested for two things: whether they have signs of hearing loss and whether they have any of a range of rare conditions that could severely impact their health and their lives.

If they test positive for either, they qualify for a number of interventions that can dramatically improve their prospects over their lifetime...

The Early Hearing Detection and Intervention program (EHDI) is run partially out of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The program helps states coordinate newborn hearing screening and respond to infants who fail the hearing tests. It falls under the CDC’s Disability and Health Promotion branch.

But this entire branch was eliminated in the April 1 cutbacks at CDC that slashed about 2,400 employees. EHDI had eight full-time workers and one fellow; all but one were eliminated in the cutbacks, according to current and former staff.

Newborns are also screened for genetic diseases that must be identified early to prevent complications that can result in developmental delays or even death. Trump eliminated the advisory committee that makes recommendations for early detection screening in newborns.

A federal advisory committee that provides guidance on which rare diseases newborns should be screened for has been dissolved by the Trump administration, according to a letter obtained by the Boston Globe.

The Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children advised the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on what rare, genetic diseases should be included in federal screening recommendations. States decide for themselves which screening tests to require, but many rely on the federal recommendations, known as the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel, for guidance, experts said.

The National Organization for Rare Disorders, a Quincy nonprofit dedicated to individuals with rare diseases, was notified of the committee’s immediate termination in an email Thursday. The message from the HHS did not give a reason for the decision and said the agency is “identifying ways to share this information more broadly.”

“This is really devastating, especially for families who have lost children to conditions that are so severe and [can be prevented] with a newborn screen,” said Allison Herrity, a senior policy analyst at the National Organization for Rare Disorders, or NORD. “We are now unsure where the work that they’ve done to prevent that happening to other families is going to go.”

They want white upper middle class women to have more babies, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebensborn, born into families that would still get screening and testing and eventually go on to build the Aryan population that will colonize Mars under the rule of Elon Musk's dynasty.

What they also want is a poor slave class who will serve corporate masters.

This is the eugenics of what Mengele Jr's autism registry is about. Screen them out of the new Fourth Reich. It is exactly "Lebensborn". And we know how those that didn't conform were disposed of.

Shakira concertgoers may have been exposed to measles at sold-out MetLife show, NJ health officials warn

These spots don’t lie.

Thousands of Shakira fans may have been exposed to the measles after an infected concertgoer attended the star’s packed MetLife Stadium performance last week, New Jersey health officials warned.

The NJ Department of Health issued an advisory Tuesday stating that an out-of-state resident who attended the Colombian singer’s sold-out Los Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour on May 15 was recently diagnosed with the highly contagious virus.

Remember COVID? In the US, an average of 300 people die from a COVID-related cause every week. Anyone at the CDC or federal government asking why?

No, because the solution is a vaccine.

Last month, an average of about 350 people died each week from COVID, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

While high, the number of deaths is decreasing and is lower than the peak of 25,974 deaths recorded the week ending Jan. 9, 2021, as well as weekly deaths seen in previous spring months, CDC data shows.

The CDC updated their COVID vaccine guidelines to recommend that persons 65 and older get a COVID booster every 6 months to prevent lowered immunity. Never heard about that change? Well, it's because the Trump Administration doesn't want you to hear about it.

And the campaign against vaccines and preparedness for future pandemics continues.

One of the reasons that the flu vaccine gets accused of being not effective is that the annual US flu vaccine is developed by looking at which flu strains are circulating 6-12 months prior to the US flu season. The process takes too long and by the time the vaccine is deployed, the influenza virus has mutated and the influenza strains in circulation may not be the same strains that are in the annual shot.

The information about which influenza strains have been circulating comes from worldwide surveillance programs sponsored by the WHO. The WHO data goes to a committee of expert virologists and epidemiologists (VRBPAC) in the US who then recommend which strains to put in the annual vaccine each year. The US government then works with the vaccine makers to get the annual vaccine "recipe" ready for the Fall.

Since taking office, Trump has:

What the US has been funding for the past 5 years is a change to the vaccine process. They are trying to come up with a more generic vaccine that doesn't have to be reformulated each year. They were also looking at technology advances like mRNA that cut vaccine develop time from months to weeks. That research is what Trump and DOGE have defunded.

It's likely that another country in Europe or Asia will develop the new vaccine and they will likely have control of the vaccine process. This means that the US will not own the patents or have control of the vaccine process in the future.

We're all going to die.

meanwhile the MAHA firehose of lies is being opened up.

No suprise. Full of errors, misstatements and bogus citations.

No suprise. Full of errors, misstatements and bogus citations.

CNN is reporting that the White House has said the "Make America Healthy Again" report released last week by RFK Junior and HHS that reportedly cites studies that do not exist was subject to "formatting errors" and "will be updated".

Guess who just used AI to create their report?

And the proof:

The best summary of the nihilism of MAGA health policies: "We're all going to die".

The answer was part of a nonsensical explanation of the Big Beautiful Bill- Ernst somehow trying to say that brutal Medicaid cuts are just because "illegals" won't get Medicaid is just bullshit. Non-citizens aren't eligible for Medicaid.

People don't get paid by Medicaid. Providers are paid by Medicaid. Those providers are required by law to provide care to people who need it. The difference in what will happen after Medicaid is cut is that those healthcare providers will still have to provide care, they just won't be paid. In some cases, that means that hospitals and emergency rooms will shut down because of unreimbursed care.
