Healthcare going forward

Now that the deadline for the reconciliation is run out I will ask again, can we finally sit down and have a serious bipartisan solution reached by Congress? There is a handful of Republicans and Democrats on at least one committee that working on the basics.

As long as Trump is president and the Koch's own congress....no chance.

What the US needs is a Democratic majority in the House and the Senate and the presidency. And this time....to not try to placate the Republicans.

And there's the rub. You've got a group of people who all think everyone else is carrying their ignorant ass so you sign off on lord only knows what - or hell, you go that extra mile and sponsor that shit. And apparently you can't take fifteen minutes out of a busy day to read the damned paperwork. That kind of incompetence isn't born in the lower echelons of the workplace. Have that level of ignorance and you're likely to lose a finger or accidentally mix the wrong chemicals and whoops! there go your lungs in any of the manual labor jobs.

Hard to believe he actually made that statement, the amount of inelegant ineptitude it shows.

Republicans are not very good at socialism and promoting government take overs.

Or reading, it seems. Or having hearings. Or allowing sunlight into their closed door hearings.

It has been noted that it is not how much we contribute to the needy, but the sacrifice of the little that we have to share. Jesus of Nazareth addressed this matter in simple language that even the ideologue can understand.

Exactly. Many Americans give even though it strains their budgets; the wealthy don't. Even Bill Gates cannot be counted generous by a Christian measure, though he has donated billions, because none of those billions he gave away bothered his standard of living.

There's a phrase, "Give till it hurts". According to the Judeo-Christian tradition, unless it hurts, you aren't actually giving.

No, what the U.S. needs is a multi-party House and a conservative Senate (in the actual, not political, meaning of the word), and a pragmatist libertarian (NOT propertarian, which is what the Kochs and their ilk are) in the White House.

Or science, or economics, or history, or even basic philosophy.

I sadly believe this is true and with Trump as a "Republican" president. I believe that no dialog can begin when we do not agree on even the facts.

More and more I believe we need competency tests for those running for office; they ought to at least have a college-lever grasp pf science and such.

Let's face facts. It's not R&D. It's not advertising. It's all about profit and greed.

^ Our accountant says that a "rough estimate" of "Not Covered Charges" left our spartan clinic absorbing nearly $100,000. We break even, but our pockets are not lined with gold. Insurance companies give american businesses a slow and steady stabbing while we are trying to provide healthcare. How much of their profit must we pay for and how much profit do they need?

How much of the "not covered charges" would have been profit to the climic? Any $25 aspirins in there? $200 sponges?

^ The guy from the insurance company was very good at not answering questions.

When R&D is in single-digit millions and advertising is in double-digit millions and profits are nearing $1 billion, there is something wrong with the system.
