Healthcare going forward

“Have you read the bill? Have you read the reconciliation bill? Have you read the manager’s amendment? Hell no, you haven’t!”

This is a fairly good summation of the state of most of the House Representatives going into this insanely rushed vote today. Guess who said it.

Ryan blaming the Republicans not making the adjustment to being a ruling party and as he put it being able to say yes to a 'good' bill even though it is not perfect. No sir, you got the wrong message. What you should be taking away from this, especially if you think that Obamacare is failing and needs to be replaced, you can't take a POS bill and ram it through the Congress with no real debate and amendment process and then complain when it fails. Ryan is the reason this failed. Take the credit for it.

:rotflmao:Obama knew that over time if it was tweaked it could work and once you give people something even dumbasses that voted for trump----(who when he takes his morning dump or playing golf has not given one ounce of thought about health care)----this would be difficult to do----but repubs are good at two things---complaining about things and destroying the political party and any dem president----thats about it---the Freedom Caucus runs the repubs---about 35 people---and they continue to destroy this country. Boner predicted this ----they got rid of him if you remember. Hopefully Ryan will be their next road kill. lol
Destroy ISIS in one month--lol
Destroy Obama care on day one---lol
Build a wall within months---lol
Under fed investigation for russian crimes---lol
lock her up---lol
etc.......

They should let ACA fail first; it will be easier to pass a replacement and the democrats will not be able to blame the GOP by pretending ADA was better. ACA will fail because we cannot overcharge healthy people enough to pay for the preexisting illnesses.

If they cannot repeal it, they also cannot support or improve it,

Ah, but they can improve it, Just modify and amend it as they would do to any other piece of legislation that has been on the books for years :gogirl: But they won't because it is SO associated with President Obama. And, has benefitted so many millions of Americans! And provides coverage for so many things that the conservatives are against. . .contraception coverage, women's health coverage, pre-existing conditions coverage, young adults remaining on their parents policies until age 26, etc.

I can't find enough fireworks images on the www; and, this forum's software won't let me utilize a big enough font to be able to convey how good I feel about this humongous defeat for the Donald and Republicans

@ Benvolio

Nonsense. They could, but they won't.

But it doesn't matter now. The moment has passed them by to gut it.

:rotflmao:

Looks good on Ryan and Trump.

I'm surprised it took so long to post about it. I heard it as 7AM on this morning's news.

I don't know why idiots out there in Rightwingistan always insist it's too expensive to insure everyone, when literally every other nation in the first world does exactly that and aren't going broke because of it.

Just how much are profits for insurance companies costing us? Because that's the only way I can see that we all go broke paying for Grandma's new hip.

My healthcare costs $900.00 USD/month. I'm not sick, I don't use any of the benefits except yearly checkups - that's $10,800.00 UDS per year just for one doctor's visit, that's some fucking expensive healthcare. I've been paying for health insurance all my working life which is approximately 30 years - are you ready for this, I just did the math for the first time, i had to check it twice, I have personally paid in over $250,000.00 USD for insurance.

I've never used it for anything other than checkups. Yeah, now I'm pissed off.

^ That's just cray.

You ought to break something really expensive just to get some of your money back.

Or at least make the doc give you a good rectal exam each year.

I just heard Trump blame it on the Democrats.

NEWS ALERT.

The Republicans have a fucking majority in the House.

They just look ridiculous and sad trying to spin it this way.

The twist to it is that people told him not to get his name on it, but no, he had to get that brand name out there.

He did try to disassociate himself from it last week, but Ryan was having none of it....constantly linking TrumpCo. to the bill.

What a waste of time and effort to only come up with a humiliating loss like this.

I listened to Ryan and thought he was right about what he said, as far as it went. What I thought he was missing is just what you said here: now suddenly being in charge means, by just common sense, that you reorganize, shift your approaches, plan carefully, and move only once ready. It's a lesson that there in Sub Tzu's Art of War, even, which I think the Speaker claims to have read. He failed to marshal his forces, assess their strengths and deploy them accordingly, prepare an effective strategy, and choose the time and place of battle.

They will not have the votes to rescue it. No, it is not out of spite for Obama; the republicans have always opposed government health care.

I decided to check the math.

I've paid in about $387,000 in health insurance, including medical, dental, vision, mental, and prescription.

By the records I have I've gotten about $238,000 in services, better than a quarter of that for getting my hips fixed, about half due to emergency care and hospitalization that followed.

You know what, that's all of us who go through life paying our bills and being good little corporate citizens.

Think of the implications of that. How many people could we have helped if all of that money went to sick people? i would be far less pissed if I didn't know that a big chunk of that went to pay for the existence of insurance companies, their lobbyists, and into the pockets of their CEO's.

I heard him, and I didn't hear blaming, I head him say they knew they wouldn't get any Democrats, and that they didn't, but they hadn't been able to make all the Republicans happy.

:rotflmao:

That's what happens when you throw something together based on ideology and don't bother actually looking at the situation you're trying to alter.
