Healthcare going forward

No the moderator and many of us have repeatedly pointed out that Dodd Frank does not say or do what you maintain it does.

However did you manage to get through any 'law' case you handled if you do not have a clear recollection of something like this Act or where you misunderstood what it said?

RACE BAITING!!!!!!!!

I believe this is racist enthno-nationalism.

Please do not post content that encourages, affirms, or otherwise promotes racism or arguments notoriously affiliated with or based upon racism or racial differentiation, such as: Citizen Nationalism, Citizenism, Exclusivist Nationalism, Nativism, White Nationalism, White Supremacy, or the like. Do not bait, provoke, or agitate other members on the basis of such arguments or use them as a means to incite controversy, discontent, or other malicious design.

You merely want it to say something reasonable, which it does not. Substitute the word whites for minorities and you would be outraged. The important point is that we cannot trust the democrats.

Bullshit. Pure racist bullshit.

No the moderator relies on the regulations as I recall. The important point for this thread is that it shows the democrats intent to slant the law away from whites and in favor of minorities and immigrants who tend to vote democrat. You cannot expect national unity for health care when we know that it will become a weapon of class, partisan and racial warfare once the democrats gain power again.
You cannot be serious about your one-sided animus against Democrats...particularly liberal ones. What about the intent of the Voter ID movements NOT to ensure fairness at the ballot box but to depress the minority turnout by aggressive enforcement? And it HAS been caught a couple of times in statements by Republican politicians that was the main motivation. Further proof is how much is being cut in state budgets like Alabama on the DMV... dramatic closures of offices and many in minority neighborhoods. Yet just about every time, you have a disingenuous diversion to put out.

Nonsense. I said no such thing. I want Obamacare repealed. Retain medicare and medicaid for the poor and elderly. You guys always think if some government is good, total government would be better.

This isn't about government. It would be better to set up a distinct foundation to do the job, so the politicians can't play with the budget. But that doesn't get around the fact that you are opposing the actual heritage of the country and indeed opposing it being a country at all, or at least opposing it being a country as described in the Preamble of the Constitution -- a people.

I guess he's happy if Americans pay tons of money to the insurance companies.

Paying them tribute. Simply paying them for their corporate rights to exist.

And covering NOTHING.

You run up a $74,000 bill for a heart bypass or something. Under that plan, insurance might cover $212 and you're stuck for the rest. Oh, the amount they cover is coming from the good-heartedness of the mighty, benevolent corporation of course.

Why is benvolio so opposed to one penny of government "socialism" or largesse of any kind, though [STRIKE]he's entirely fine with[/STRIKE] he wants the insurance companies demanding often more than $10,000 a year from one person in return for covering nothing? I guess the government ripoffs are too petty.

He's like a lot of so-called libertarians: they approve of pirates because they're not government, but free enterprise. Medical insurance is basically piracy under the color of law.

What sophistry!

Something that is for EVERYONE can't be used as a tool of division...
except by those who want to retain privileges and don't care about anyone else.

No -- the important thing is that YOU cannot trust the Democrats.

And that is so because -- as has been established objectively in this forum -- you favor racist, plutocratic, hypocritical, and otherwise bigoted societal structures that would keep you in a privileged state.

By the record, WE cannot trust YOU -- not to tell the truth, not to understand what links you give actually say, not to remember what others have said, not to see individuals rather than stereotypes, not even to read plain sentences on the screen with a level of comprehension appropriate to a high school graduate, not to grasp or uphold the ideals of the country you claim or the heritage you insist it holds.

Ben, act like you really are an attorney for once: this statement has been made, and you either answer it or the judge rules summarily in its favor:

It's irrelevant whether they "deserve" it. We are the ones who deserve it -- we owe it to ourselves to take care of those who are part of our people.

You prate about the nation and assimilation, but you give those no substance appropriate to those constituting a people. A people is a family writ large, and what family worth its name does not take care of its own? It is not because of the worth of the individuals to whom care is given, but for the sake of the worth of the individuals who give it that health care for all is an obligation: if we do not grant it, how dare we claim to be their fellow-citizens?

And you maintain that we have a Judeo-Christian heritage, but that claim is just noise in the wind if we do not honor it by treating others as we would treat ourselves. I remind you at this point of the origin of a phrase you hate: straight out of the Bible, right out of that Judeo-Christian heritage you claim to honor, comes the admonition "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" -- yes, Marx stole it, though he didn't get it quite right, since the Apostles didn't require everyone to give up all wealth. It comes from the book of Acts, but it is also from Jesus' own words, when He said "From him to whom much is given, much is required." Yet Jesus' words only echoed those of the prophets, who condemned those who own multiple houses and fancy estates yet do not see to it that the poor are housed and fed.

Either we are a people, and one with a Judeo-Christian heritage, or we are not. You cannot invoke the words appropriate to being a people, or having that heritage, yet ignore the substance -- or rather you can, but then the other side of the Judeo-Christian heritage must kick in, naming you a whitewashed tomb, a dignified sepulchre with only death inside.

Actually it is you who are attempting to divert.

No. I regret we are no longer a people , but a hodgepodge--divisive and multicultural by design and effort.

I wish we were still a people instead of a hodgepodge--divisive and multicultural--by design and effort.

What sophistry!

Something that is for EVERYONE can't be used as a tool of division...
except by those who want to retain privileges and don't care about anyone else.

It certainly will not be from everyone, but will increasingly be more burdensome to those who pay taxes and discriminatory more beneficial to those who contribute the least.

Ben, act like you really are an attorney for once: this statement has been made, and you either answer it or the judge rules summarily in its favor:

We are not a people or intended to be any longer. Democrats want a divisive, multicultural hodgepodge (Obama's word) and they are achieving it. Liberals would deny the Judeo-Christian label as exclusive of Hindus, muslims, Buddhists. Any most do not want to join us as a people, but to retain their own cultures, religions and languages. From us they want high taxes and freebies for them, including health care. To that end they vote democrat.

Actually it is you who are attempting to divert.
Oh, please.... everything I've said about Voter ID is true. It's a farce. No attempt at diversion by you will change that fact... not even your diversion that I'm really the diverting one, lol.

And of your crocodile tears regarding how you wish America would become united again... for years Jewish, Catholic and Asian immigrants were discriminated against heavily and seen as "others". They believed in the ideals of this country far better than prejudiced native born bigots who decried their numbers and place for being here and treated them as second class citizens. You defend an America that never truly existed for many. I only wish I could write and express my points as well as Kuli... I will say I thoroughly will enjoy watching the total implosion of the Donald Trump presidency and will work to support an America that is truly forward thinking, humane and compassionate. THAT will be an America that will be great and worth defending to the very end.

Really, Ben? Are you serious? What do any of these posts have to do with healthcare?

FOUR derailing posts after accusing Saucy of diversion. FOUR!!

But you're the one opposing our heritage. You can't claim a Judeo-Christian heritage and want to treat any part of your people as trash, which is exactly what the ACHA was about. You can't claim a Judeo-Christian heritage when you work to make the wealthy wealthier and leave the needy stuck without help.

Republicans spit on the Judeo-Christian heritage every time they pass a tax break for the wealthy yet leave the country's infrastructure falling apart. They spit on it every time they give honor to someone who has accumulated wealth when there are people around in need of housing and medical care. But those are the things you support.

And rather than try to fight for that heritage, and to act like we are a people, you take the cowardly route of blaming Democrats for a failure driven by Republican hatred of anyone not "assimilated", which from your record means acting like a WASP and looking down on anyone who isn't.

As for your claims that "most do not want to join us as a people, but to retain their own cultures, religions and languages", that's part rubbish and part anti-American rubbish. Nothing about America ever said people coming here would have to give up their religion -- that's 180° contrary to what America is about. Nor is there anything about them giving up their own languages, though they usually do, and are doing so at roughly the same pace as all former immigrants. Nor do they have to give up their own culture; the Founding Fathers were very familiar with multiple cultures, since they had several within the colonies at the time (cultures which had it not been for the Revolution would have been fighting each other).

And "freebies"? Not a single immigrant I've met wants "freebies", they want to stand on their own, and they're willing to take aid in getting there, but they're less interested in freebies that the Americans who won't take some kinds of jobs... which means immigrants can get jobs.

Last, you still have to address this:

And you maintain that we have a Judeo-Christian heritage, but that claim is just noise in the wind if we do not honor it by treating others as we would treat ourselves. I remind you at this point of the origin of a phrase you hate: straight out of the Bible, right out of that Judeo-Christian heritage you claim to honor, comes the admonition "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" -- yes, Marx stole it, though he didn't get it quite right, since the Apostles didn't require everyone to give up all wealth. Yet Jesus' words only echoed those of the prophets, who condemned those who own multiple houses and fancy estates yet do not see to it that the poor are housed and fed."

Or, for that matter, this:

It's irrelevant whether they "deserve" it. We are the ones who deserve it -- we owe it to ourselves to take care of those who are part of our people.
