A few tweaks here and there and it should pass the Senate next week!

I hope there aren't any more tweaks, that would mean it has to come back to the House again, lol.

But regardless, yes the main bill passing is very welcomed. Obama is supposed to sign it on Tuesday.

Yessssssssss! I can't WAIT for government to force me to buy private insurance.

I'm so fucking glad our government sold out to big pharma again. Thank you, Queen Pelosi.

Look on the bright side!

Rush Limbaugh is leaving the country!

He said he would if the bill passes.

I'm watching Fox News out of pure amusement. Michael Steele looks like he's gonna have a stroke.

Where's Nelson when you need him?:

Costa Rica has universal healthcare, so Limbaugh would hate it there.

What a great day for those 35 million Americans who will get coverage. Great day for deficit reduction also. Great day for anyone who has consideration for the needs of the less fortunate.

Amazing. We can require people to have car insurance, but require them to have health insurance? Well, that's just Fascism/Socialism!

I don't like that requirement either :p Costs me $147 a month

The Democrats Own Healthcare NOW, for better or worse !!! There is no one to blame for upcoming issues on Healthcare other than the Democrats.

Let's have no more whining from the Democrats on this issue. You own the positive and negatives from this day forward. The first time this has happened on any major social issue in this country's history.

Congratulations on a political victory ( we will leave the methods to another thread) and we will let the voters decide at the ballot box !!!

I'd rather pay some money for government insurance than have to pay some ridiculous amount for private insurance that I might not even get if I don't pass thier long checklist of qualifications.

People of the United States! Welcome to civilisation!

I'm fine with [STRIKE]capitalism[/STRIKE] the free market (sorry about that slip, Texas) deciding who has a Jaguar or a mansion or oak panelling in their study.

I'm not okay with [STRIKE]capitalism[/STRIKE] (damn, I keep doing that) the free market deciding who lives or dies. Neither are people we call "[STRIKE]civilised[/STRIKE]." Sorry Texas, I meant COMMUNIST of course.

If you oppose socialism, I suppose we should also abolish:

* Public schools
* Libraries
* Roads and highways
* Mail
* National defense
* Police
* Firefighters
Thank you for pointing this out.
Amazing. We can require people to have car insurance, but require them to have health insurance? Well, that's just Fascism/Socialism!

There is no Federal law requiring people to have car insurance.

There are state laws requiring people to have car insurance when they drive. Big difference there!
You're right. You should have a law that limits itself to requiring health insurance only for those people who get sick. People like Wolverine from X-Men should be exempt. It is only fair. FREEEEDOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

Really? Well you obviously know more about it than I do, so I'm wondering why you're against Government insurance red rubber ball.

BTW, remind me why they cut 5 million people out of the coverage provided by this act?

I'm not clear on what they did to piss the rest of you off...

that fat fuck limbaugh better be out of the country by 5 pm tomorrow! :badgrin:

Ok so the healthcare bill is just adding a tax to your paycheck right? So that healthcare will be more affordable overall, but there's no public option anymore. That still seems better than private insurance

If.they.drive.

It's not the fucking same as making someone buy something just for existing.Yeah, that's what I'm advocating. #-o

Make all the snide, wise-ass remarks you want, but you look like the bigger ass because you guys are the ones creating this false dichotomy: Either we maintain status quo or we institutionalize mandates to complement the forced removal of pre-existing conditions as a disqualifier.

So what is your issue with this law. You are saying since everyone born into this world will confront illness, then everyone should be required to have compulsory health insurance.
