I was just shaving and while doing so remembered a commercial I saw earlier for Gillette's Heated Razor.
If you haven't seen it here it is:

My first thought when I saw this was vape pens and explosions. Then a future news headline popped into my head: "Man Blows Off Balls Shaving".

You're thoughts in this?

What could possibly go wrong?

Some 38 years ago, my Western Civilization professor shared the anecdote that the razor industry is locked in a perpetual spiral of innovation that is necessary to sell more product.

He gave the example of double blade razors, then triple, and now they are up to four and five.

Then they added the "comfort strip."

Now, it's heated.

Soon, it'll have a built in vibrator so you can use the other end up your arse.

It is true that the marketing of razors is very gimmicky.

The heat may be welcome if unnecessary, but it sure smacks of rank consumerism.

I can just see it skipping down your cheek, leaving a Venetian blind cut pattern in its wake.

If you wet shave and use hot water, surely the razor is heated by the water. Why pay for a gimmick?

Just use a little Ben Gay instead of shaving cream.

No, I hadn't seen the heated razor before. I believe that barbers try to use heated towels or heated shaving cream when they shave customers, but I haven't had a barber shave me.

I don't do shaving, prefer keeping the fur.

I have never used a strait razor. I think that my barber sometimes does on the back of my neck.

$150.00 for a razor? I'm gonna become a terrorist.

Still using Gillett Sensor Excel after all these years. Price has certainly come down after all these years of competition.

About $14.00 for a 10 pack from Amazon.

And you can get a few shaves out of each one before they start nicking you.

Do a good close shave on face and razoring my head.

Hand crafted in China :)
