I'm watching the season premiere tonight. Why would anyone willingly subject themselves to this pompous asshole's rath?

I saw some of it, too (I turned the channel during the first commercial break). He really is a pompous, obnoxious ass. Why would people subject themselves to such humiliation?

Top Chef was a FAR better show. Sure, things got heated, but they weren't subjected to unrelenting denigration. Can Fox ever do anything tastefully?

damn to bad i work or i be watching it my self right now too

saw the first one and was like wow that show is good

I watched last season, and forgot to catch this new show.

Ramsey is "difficult", but excellence does have a price....

It is just a show. I don't think that Gordon is like that in real life. If you watch the show, you can see when a team wins a challenge and gets to go out with dinner with him, he is very personable and friendly. It wouldn't be a great show unless he was yelling.

Well it is back on...figured I would just dig up this old ass post rather than starting a new thread. It seems like the contestants this year are quite inept and incapable of cooking anything.

I think they dug up the worst of the worst just so Gordon Ramsey would get more fodder to scream at. Dunno which is worse, woman who can't cook eggs, or crying asian cowboy.

If you watch any of Gordon's other shows on BBC America he is a nice guy...he doesn't do as much yelling on those shows...a little bit to get the point into the people's heads...haha

Gordon Ramsay can go fuck himself. He seems to have built a career on being a very good chef and treating his staff like shit.

I don't care how good a chef he is, that still does not give him the right to treat employees the way he does.

That Aaron dude, was crying all the fucking time! And what was his deal with walking out on his team? He needed to go!

I think that they do dig up the worst chefs...I think that it would be more interesting if they would dig up the same types of chefs that they have on Bravo's Top Chef. But I guess the ratings is based on Gordon blowing up...

I just keep waiting for somebody to coldcock his ass on the deck!!!

I know that most of that shit is just "theatrical," but Jeez Louise, can you imagine going to a restaurant for a nice dinner and hearing that loudmouth fuck screaming obscenities in the kitchen? #-o

I would like to think that any intelligent restauranteur would have canned him at the first opportunity for abusing staff like that!

don't know why, but i like watching this show..... would never ever volunteer myself for it... but find it entertaining to watch...

Have you ever worked in fine dining? Many executive chefs are maniacal perfectionists. He's no exception to the rule, he merely exploits it to make money and get his mug on TV.

That said, I do enjoy the show, and can't wait to see Kitchen Nightmares in the fall. His other shows are on BBC America here (Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, The F Word) and all are great.

This season's crop of contestants are a bunch of fools. For the most part, each episode they cook the same damned thing, so how hard is it to do that? Honestly, I don't think any of them deserve to win. Of the ones left, Rock is egotistical, Josh is a special needs child, Bonnie cracks way too easily under pressure and Jen is slow, although she seems to be improving. Julia, the short order cook, I like. She may not have the background but she can hustle and she's a quick learner. I like her, but I don't think she'll make it all the way through.

I predict it'll come down to Jen and Rock, but I can't really tell who will take it.

Actually, I have. And I did fire one chef for screaming obscenities at kitchen staff...right in the middle of dinner service. Surprisingly enough, we got through the night okay. Hired a new chef the next morning who closed the house for one night to put things in order and life went on.

He's an excellent Chef as far as Chef is concerned. I don't think he yells like that in real life. I mean, would you?

Yes he may seem like he treats his staffs like shit. But hey, when you're trained under an excellent coach, will your coach tell you what you WANT to hear or tell you what you HAVE to hear? You decide man. This is a Gay website. Pussies, please stand aside.(*8*)

What the hell? Bonnie as a finalist? Did not see that coming...well just hand the restaurant over to Rock.

I can't believe that Bonnie made it as a finalist either, what a whiney bitch, with not much talent. I couldn't stand how she wanted Rock to do all of the hard chores while she did the easier ones.

Rock will come out ahead.
