Ok. Like the title says, I need fashion tips from you guys for a meeting which I'm obliged to attend to. To tell you a bit about myself, I'm kind of guy who doesn't prioritize style or fashion and like to be in what I feel comfortable most. I wear T and jeans, that sort of things, most of the time.
For coming few days, I need to change my style for the meeting that I need to attend to. I'm planning to buy new blazer and shoe to go with my black jeans and black&white spotted dress shirt. I'm looking for something that wouldn't look too formal or too casual, something in between. Can you guys give me an idea on what color/material blazer should I buy? And what kind/color of shoe would look great with my black jeans? I'm hoping to get impression by wearing nicely. So, any two cents would be much appreciated.

I would give my advice, but what type of "meeting" is this? Can you be more specific in that regard? :)

The reason I ask is that if it's a date, that would sway my answer. If it's a more professional setting, then that would facilitate a different answer.

We need a bit more information. What kind of meeting? How many days?

Jeans are generally a no-no. Sorry. Invest in a nice fitting pair of Dockers or something similar.

A black and white 'spotted' dress shirt sounds like another no-no. Sounds too casual. Get a nice solid color dress shirt or something with subtle vertical stripes. Blue appears to be the color of the moment, but that MIGHT be too 2008.

And if you only have one pair of decent dress shoes, always choose black. You can get more colors later but black is so very basic, EVERYONE should have at least one pair.

Sorry for late reply guys. To answer questions all you guys ask - Yes it is sort of business meeting and it may last for 2 to 3 days depending on some circumstances. So jeans is big no no then? The reason I'm giving a second thought on this, is that, it has dress pant kind of look and color is jack black, not wash out color one. And I want to feel comfortable at the same time as this meeting might be stretch out whole day. Thanks for the input everyone.

Suggestion: Two matching shoes might be helpful.

I'll reiterate.

Black classic dress shoes. Black Socks.

Nice fitting khaki pants. Not too baggy. If you are used to jeans it will be uncomfortable but deal with it. Nice Belt, too.

Solid color or subtle striped dress shirt. Tie. Change the shirt daily.

Blazer. If it is too formal (look at the other men in the meeting) you can remove the tie and the blazer.

This is the basic business uniform. You can customize later.

^^thanks for the tip.

No problem.

If you are worried about being too formal, you should throw in your bag a couple of solid color polo shirts, on day 2 or 3 you can wear them (look at the other dudes) instead of a dress shirt. You can always 'informalize' a dress shirt by rolling up the sleeves and taking off the jacket.

You can never go wrong with some classic shoes, khaki pants and a good shirt. NO WHITE SOCKS!

Obviously, unless it is a meeting at an insanely informal company jeans are definitely out. As far as the dress code, either nice slacks and a blazer with a tie - or if you need to, a new suit or two.

One more question guys. Should I buy a blazer that reveal cuff or should I buy one that doesn't?

Here is an inspiration for you:

i tend to go collered shirt and tie - suit pants - shoes and belt same colour - wastecoat or jacket - and its generally smart/trendy to conservative depending on the type of client and the business - but hey thats just me
