Well, seeing as no one else will....

"We're are gathered here today viewing this final tribute to Riverricks now legendary thread. It was a fine kick ass thread, full of life...showing us all how to live fully and love freely (some a little too freely it seems given the amount of time they spent in bed). It was a thread that epitomized Rick and what he stands for...but more than that it was a thread that was open and inviting to all that passed out....er through it.

It mattered not what part of our far flung community you lived, what part of our globe, whether it was a grass hut without running power and water at the flick of a switch or heaven save us.... broadband...or in palatial opulence like some who shall remain nameless but rhymes with Melvin (how tasteful is this guy...please) ...it did not discriminate. Nor did it care your creed colour or race (or the brand of underwear or shoes you wore). Young or old this thread taught us that no matter how far apart we are we are closer together than we think (a blessing really for the stalkers amongst us).

It was a thread that inspired us, pushing us to new levels of creativity, innuendo, smut, eroticism....um...er...sorry...wrong thread. Where was I...um yes....It was a thread that inspired us to new levels of creativity, community and partnership. It taught us that as individuals when we contribute we build something grand. Completely unrealistic and full of bs for sure, but grand none the less.

I for one am a better person for having known this thread...and I'm sure that if you all take the time (could take a while - brace yourselves) to think back at the joy shared through the participation you too will realise we all spend far too much time in front of the computer. Still I can honestly say I can attach pictures and thumbnails far quicker now than I could before.

In closing...yeah...yeah stop ya cheering, I would just like to say that I think we as a community should be proud that we can create such warmth and spirit over such a trivial thing. As my kindergarten teacher used to say all the time - "great minds think alike....dickheads seldom differ".

RIP thread. I'm sure that like the plot in any $2.50 horror movie you have the power to be resurrected at the touch of a key. But for now...goodbye."

In all serious now Rick...this was one of the best easy flowing threads in a very very long time. Hats off to your creativity mate. We're standing by for the next one!!!

What a nice memorial service for this poor little thread! And what a nice turnout also. Taps, speeches, music, flowers; our little thread would have been so happy to know he was so loved. :-)

For that's all he wanted in life, to love and be loved, and to acquire as many personal possessions as possible (thanks everyone for that!). Surely he died a wealthy thread but unfortunately even his doctor couldn't prevent the inevitable. Fortunately he was cute and had other uses.

Thanks for the nice speech, Tallguy. It was, um....nice. And a special thanks to Roy Orbison for coming back from his own grave to sing at the service.

Our little thread was born, lived life to the fullest, and died with his friends around. What more could a thread ask for?
