When I was a kid back in the late 50s, 2 neighbours of mine decided to see what would happen if they poured Drano crystals into a glass jar half-filled with water and twist on the top.

One of them spent almost a month in hospital with serious acid burns and glass shrapnel all over the front of his body. The other wasn't damaged quite as badly and recovered without any scars.

ID 10 T syndrome at its best.

Anyhoo, I prefer dry ice bombs - but you have to be a bit quicker than with mentos.
 
depends .. I have successfully built pretty accurate 1min timers with dry ice ;)
