I basically made a post last night with me vomiting all over it and with the mods here being anti American no wonder it got deleted. Always out to get me, what ever. Anyway. Im making a new resume as i type this because i am in a DESERET need of funds atm. Like right now!

I know a resume wont make me money ASAP but im thinking long run--short term i may start posting ADs on craigs list.... I am shooting for a local job maybe at a bud clinic just for accessibility. I am wonder would it should shady if i said toward of the end of my resume "Open to being paid cash" Or "Will work for cash money"....Shit sounds so so god damn mud dirty bum on the side of a free way broke but i am kind of feeling that desperate and im not into begging anyone for money friend or family. What do i do ?

Oh here is what i got so far with job describtion.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
24 Hours Fitness-Santa Monica, CA
(Customer Service Management)
Pivotal with managing a range of key functions in support of 24 Hour Fitness retail and customer management
Charged with managing a range of key operational functions in support of 24 Hour Fitness retail with two locations a. Recruited, trained and managed 15-member team, ensuring continuous delivery of outstanding customer service .
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now the only porblem is--i have NEVER worked at 24 hour fitness. I only go because i have a good friend who is a personal trainer and the other works the front desk so i basically get freee.... I just cant win.

^ Does that mean your lying on your resume? Or is that the job your going for?

Do you want to get paid in cash? Or would you rather get paid in product?

You go grocery shopping sometimes, too, right? Why not list the store as a place as employment, too?

I guess it all depends. Seeing as how i actually did check in a few people (some of the staff were missing or swarmed) and i have "modeled" (don't take that to serious just no other words to explain) a few physically activities. That means if the instructor as injured (my friend) would have physically do the routine while they spoke. I never apped nor did i get paid from the company themselves.

The thing is i really don't know what position i want. I have no idea of whats even available. Just for the time i would rather just be in some kind of consumer care--something local not a huge company, laid back feeling. Thats why im looking for probably a local hippe establishment maybe bud clinic. I honestly have no idea on how about getting any of that done besides walking into the store and handing them some done up lofty resume.......And I would much rather have the cash to be honest but if its at a bud clinic, definably the product.

If you lie about this, this sure says a lot about you, does it not..and you actually think they would not call for ref's, your banking on them taking you on your word.

and if you got a postion w/those respondsibilies, you would not have a clue what to do...except be fired. and no employer I know would ever pay in cash cuz it has to be reported for payroll taxes, work comp ins, and health ins,

I've met a couple people in my life who had what might be called wretched job histories. They never lasted anywhere more than three months at any position, and it was more common for them to be gone from each new position within two weeks. But here's the thing - despite their horrible job history, they never had any trouble getting another job. Ever. Anytime they wanted a job, they simply started visiting establishments, and within the first ten places they visited, they ALWAYS had a job. And I'm not talking about back when unemployment was around 3% - they've done it for years. Mind you, the jobs were never fantastic ones. They would sell snacks at a theater, or be a busboy at a diner. But they were fine doing that, because if they didn't like the job after a few weeks, they'd just walk.

This doesn't mean the OP is one of that type, but I don't see why he can't try that route.

I think it would be better if you placed that as "community service" or something rather than a job...since you never really worked there o.o

OP: You need to Google "good ass resume" (minus the quotation marks) and just change the name and address to those of your choosing... or just be mysterious and leave the information that came with the resume. Whatevs.

Good luck

Ya good advice so far guys. I just finished today. Its lofty and filled with shit and with friend of friend contact info. Here is the thing. I have honestly never had a job a day in my life--ever, and being in my early 20s kind of means im dead in he water and with no excuses to have such a short resume with no real working experience so i added in some fluff. I am going to shoot mid and local seeing as how im going to transfer college in the fall so this is really just to be productive with my time and to build some character. I said it would be a better idea than just using my dick for the next 5 months.

I think a lot of the above posters have hit the nail on the head. The type of job you are looking for, you really don't need a resume to get.

Problem is, employers just aren't hiring.

Bottom line is this if you want to work for someone else:

Be honest
Show up (not only that, be the first one to get to work and the last one to leave)
Be polite
Be clean and presentable

And do what you are asked or told to do

It is really that simple

the thing is - they ARE hiring. The walk-in-and-ask-for-a-job jobs are the ones most likely to be hiring. So just start walking in and asking.
