its my first time hiring a str8 escort last week and im getting paranoid that he might have transmitted an HIV to me. This situation really bothers me, I fingered him and at first poke he already screamed in pain so i let him control my finger until it gets inside his anus my middle finger stayed inside going up and down for about 10 minute or less after that he wont let me finger him anymore so i started worshiping his body some kissing here and there... after his service i took a shower and i discovered i have a cut on my middle finger, i did not know where and when i got it BUT IF EVER i already have it and it bleed when i was fingering him and inside of his anus theres a little bleeding as well(im considering in my fist poke in his anus he got a cut because of my nail) am i at risk of getting HIV from that guy?(lets assume he is HIV positive)

i already did but thats only after 4 days it happened.. i figured i need to wait 3 months to be sure im negative now im getting paranoid..

I think it is highly improbably that you have been infected. He probably is not positive, he probably was not cut by your fingernail, you probably did not have an open cut at the time--you would have noticed the bleeding. And your cut probably did not come into contact with his blood, if any. Now most people who become infected experience flu-like symptoms about 2 or 3 weeks after contact, You are already part way to through that period of time. If nothing happenes you can take additional comfort that it did not happen, but this is not absolute. There are tests which can detect it at this point, but they are expensive.

with all the information available to people today, through so many venues...ignorance about HIV and how it is transmitted is inexcusable ......instead of using your cell phone to look for sex, use it to get info ABOUT sex..

The chances of catching HIV that was are VERY slim. Like... I don't think it's really possible. Getting that out in the open air would kill the virus almost immediately (if he even had it at all).

AND... for the higher-end tests, you can get reliable results in 3 days. If you actually think you're possibly infected, go ahead and get tested. OR... how about this...

LEARN THAT YOU CAN TAKE TRUVADA AS Post-Exposure-Profilaxus to stop you from being infected if you take it soon after being exposed.

Honestly... how do people not KNOW this?

Firstly, I believe it is very unlikely to have got HIV from this, even if you have a small cut (according to what I have read from 'experts' anyway). Some of them even say the only way to pass it on is to stick your dick in, but I'm not sure how accurate that is, so nobody reading take this for granted, and I certainly wouldn't recommend sticking a finger in that has a cut.
Secondly, the tests nowadays can be done much sooner than 3 months. Here in NZ, a test is said to be conclusive at 6 weeks, and about 95% accurate at 4 weeks (thats called the duo test which looks for both antibodies and antigens).
And soilwork suggests one test is reliable in 3 days. Ring an STD clinic and find out. But you definitely don't have to wait 3 months.

On the other hand, if Andy gets flu like symptoms in 2 or 3 weeks, it may just be the flu. I know someone who got really wound up because he got the flu about 2 weeks after a risky encounter, but it WAS just the flu.

What's missing from this story is what occurred between the fingering and the shower. If there is a risk of STD transmission it would likely have occurred during this time. And the activities that took place during this time is why you should be getting a full battery of STD tests... not just an HIV test.

Having a cut on your finger when it is inside someone's ass does put you at risk for some nasty infections of the bacterial variety. But not HIV.

does it considered as flu like symptoms if I only have mucus in my throat for a week now? i got this after 3 hours of our deed..

The mucus could not be a sign of HIV infection that soon after the contact. Also nothing I have read suggests mucus is a symptom.

Ok seriously...

you know that the issue isn't really that you're worried about HIV infection. If you really were, you'd have gone to a doctor the next day and asked for Truava for post-exposure treatment (assuming you know that you can take drugs to prevent you from seroconverting).

This is about feeling guilty and dirty about sexual contact that didn't turn out well.

Mucus in your throat is not a symptom of HIV. Just go to a doctor and get tested to put your mind at rest. the chances of you being infected with HIV are next to nothing. But as a sexually active adult you should get tested for things regularly.

Sex is only for adults and if you're not ready to be responsible like one, maybe you're not ready for sex.

i have gone to a doctor twice, last week and this week.. im just asking for more information here about something that i did not expect that will happen, its not part of my plan.. i know enough about HIV before i meet up with that escort but not about fingering someone with a fresh wound i totally did not see this coming. Im not sexually active, it was my first time last week and so far i haven't done it again because my doctor suggest not to have any form of sex with anyone else yet after 2 weeks.

Your question was a good one Andy. Youre not the first one to have these worries and wont be the last. Apparently no one has ever reported to have caught HIV through fingering, although there is a theoretical risk. I know because I looked it up as part of my own education.

Ignore the people who make unkind comments. They get a feeling of superiority by trying to put others down. Once you find out what kind they are, use the ignore function.

Mucus in the throat would not be a symptom of an early HIV infection.

It could be a symptom of a strep infection, a chlamydia infection, a gonorrhea infection, a cold and any other number of contagious diseases that you could contract during a sexual encounter.

If you were to go to your doctor and say, "Could this be HIV?", he will say, "No".

On the other hand, if you go to your doctor and say, "I've had mucus and drainage in my throat for three weeks. Do you think it might be an infection?", he will say, "Possibly, let's run some tests".

they say dont do oral sex if you have an open would in your mouth or sore throat because HIV disease may enter how about in my case that i have a mucus in my throat? will it be dangerous also?

it sounds more like you have allergies.

"Mucus" is not "an open wound."

It's just... mucus. Mucus actually protects from HIV because it blocks any micro-openings and saliva contains an enzyme that kills HIV (or that was what they were telling us back in the 90s, granted I haven't followed it very far).

As someone who has sucked a LOT of dick in my life, many of it belonging to guys I knew to be HIV+, I'll tell you the chance of catching HIV via oral sex or fingering is VERY VERY small.

But you're a sexually active adult and that means that you need to be in regular contact with your doctor and get tested for any STIs every 6 months or so.

Well good... that's smart.

However, I think all of this emotional roller coaster that you're on is less about you being worried about having an STI as much as the emotional response from having an unsatisfactory first time sexual experience.

And all the googling I've ever done about fingering says "No... go for it... not a way to catch HIV."
