Hi, i was wondering if someone could help me with unwanted emails from yahoo groups?
For a while it was ok recieving group emails, but lately they have become annoying.
One problem is that i am recieving emails from groups that i specifically chose 'no email' in the group preferences. Another problem is that groups i have left are still sending me mail.
Is there any way to resolve these problems?

Short of suggesting you set up a filter to automatically send the messages to your trash bin, probably not.

Y-G has a bug in their servers which is causing problem for some groups. Per Y-G, it's causing the following known problems:

* The member list will be out of date with new members not yet appearing on the list (though they will appear in the management logs, which are fully up to date), making it impossible for moderators to change the settings (or remove) these members.
* Members who are not showing up on the member list will also not receive messages via email (although they can still read messages on the web or post via email).
* Members who have recently unsubscribed (but who were set to receive individual emails or digests) will continue to receive messages from the group until the RepDB system is up to date.
* Changes to email settings will not take effect.
* Members who have been reactivated out of bouncing status will still not get email.
* Exports from the member list will not be up to date (although “downloads” will be).

Last update on this was 7/24. At that time they estimated it would be a week for them to get it fixed.

I dunno just push spam button
i on the other hand just started getting junk mail in my Yahoo account?? WTF??!!!

personally i just use 3 email addresses
1:spam/porn
2: software programs/games/poker/facebook ect
3. Personal email

this way i never get spam with important emails, but its going over the top abit

Most spam I get is from people who are using Grouply (hint: never ever use the service of that website).

I get invitations to be their friend, apparently because we share the same Yahoo Group(s) ...yet I unsubscribed from these ones a long time ago.

Every invitation comes with a footer that contains links to mark the mail as spam or block further invitations, but they don't work.
