This is just ridiculous. Are you actually looking for a response?

I'm trying to "win" him over and I think I have a fighting chance.

Sorry to tell you this, but you can't and you don't. You cannot convert a straight guy. There is a one in a million chance you get to have sex with him when he's drunk (though I would like to direct you to this topic before you get any ideas). And even then you would get a world of drama afterwards, more than any shag is worth. My suggestion? Get the notion of ever having sex with him out of your head. It'll only cause you pain.

I don't see the connection between his past and you wanting to tell him your gay and he's hot....

the only way I see it is that you think because he experiences all this in his past he would be thankful or happy to have someone actually "liking" or "loving" him... which is wrong..

If your taking advantage of this situation for your own good I think that's totally wrong...

you could tell him you're gay and that you think he's hot, but don't expect anything in return..

This is exactly what I was thinking. If you think he'll be grateful to have anyone find him sexually attractive because of his past, then I think he deserves better than you.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I mentioned anywhere that I just wanted to have sex with him.

You did indeed not mention it. My apologies.

Wondering what you mean by 'win him over' then. If you mean 'be friends with him', fine. If it means anything to do with love, then my comment stands.

If you only want to be friends with him, then telling him you're gay depends on a number of things:
1. How open are you at work? Are you out?
2. How open is he? Does he tell personal stuff at all, or is it just 'saw the game'?
3. How do you think he'll respond? If you can't be sure at all, either take a leap of faith or try to find out by asking something gay-related, but not linked to you personally.

You need to decide for yourself what to do about 'I'm gay...'. '...and I think you're hot.', however, I would keep to myself, especially if you don't know him that well yet. Things like that don't often go well unless you're really good friends (and even then it might not be wise to divulge that tidbit).

antidoll, those are two of the most intelligent and thoughtful statements you have made in this forum. my congratulations to you.

this guy has had enough emotional problems in his life, and he does not need you screwing around with him i you are just interested in him for sex - drop the matter if that is your thinking. he does not need someone else playing games on him in his life.

sounds to me like you are being insensitive towards him and only thinking of your wants and needs.

if there were any possibility of a positive and worth while relationship that would be one thing, but you already know the guy is straight. why place another burdon on him with his troubled past. that is being thoughtless and very insensitive towards the guy.

and if you are not talking about any sexual issues then clarify your original posting. if you are speaking totally of friendship and nothing sexual then say so -

Well I for one read 'win him over' as pitching more than simple friendship.

Tell him you like him and that he's really hot and that you're gay.

See what happens.

Hey malewaiter...

Its such a shame that your here looking for some serious help and all you get is bullshit and sarcasm.

My advice to you is TAKE IT SLOW!! Just be yourself, and do your best to be a friend and a shoulder for him. It sounds like this guy has had about every horrific thing imaginable happen to him. The last thing he needs is a guy looking to fuck him. I know you said that wasn't really your intentions but watch out, it will sneak up on you quickly.

I think you being there for him and doing your best to help him find some comfort and happiness in his dark life will ultimately be the best thing you can do for him. You may find a friend for life.

Hope this helps... ..|
