"Heroes" Suffers The Sophomore Slump

i think peter's little irish gf is not cute at all. and its so stupid how she just acts like him having all these powers is totally normal

heroes is has gone to shit mostly but Lost is 100 times worse. they havent solved a single mystery since the show began. but heroes got way too ahead of itself. the stars and everyone involved were showboating around the world during the hiatus like they were curing cancer but forgot to make a quality show.

that's not true.

but Heroes is a really bad show.

I originally thought that Heroes was going to be a one-season show, and I liked it more because of that. But then it was brought back from the television grave...and I was not pleased.
Milo Ventimiglia is always nice to look at, but a show needs more than him to survive. (Just look at Gilmore Girls, a paradigm of perfect shows.)

The "Generations" Volume is expected to end somewhere around episode 10; so the story arc of the Twelve Founders of the Company, the Eight Paintings by Isaac, and Hiro in Feudal Japan are expected to be wrapped up by this time. After episode 10, "Origins" is expected to take over for a few episodes, and is likely to focus on completely new characters with little or no interaction from established characters.

That's my point. If all of this will be done by episode 10ish, that means they've got 4 more shots to actually build up some drama and resolve it. I suspect the resolution will be rushed and confusing so they can jam the second and third "parts" into this season. I don't know. It may be ok and I'm not giving up, but right now I'm falling asleep watching these episodes. Paint dries faster than these stories are coming alive.

Pft. Lost is so much better. Acting, script, plot, direction, special effects...

I'd be very much surprised if Heroes is around with the same popularity that Lost is now when it hits 4th season.

But then, shows always jettison viewers in their second season, it sorts the die hards from the casual viewers.

I've never seen heroes yet, despite the hype had made me want to see it after season 1 ended. i'm kind of disappointed about all of the negative reviews season 2 is getting, but still sounds like a fun show to watch. and even though i've never seen heroes, I have seen every episode of lost. I dont get why these two shows keep getting compared, but i will end the debate right now: LOST IS THE BEST SHOW EVER! PERIOD! :-)

I couldn't have said it better, ThePro! ..|

The past couple of seasons of Lost have been drawn out filled with boredom, and the new season won't even start this fall? not til January or something?

"Lost" returns on Feb. 10 for 16 episodes in a row.

The show was renewed this spring and will be around until May, 2010 which will bring it's series run to six years.

but Heroes is a really bad show.

Yes that would explain why it got a Emmy nomination for Best Drama Series.

Oh come on, at least we can all agree it's fun watching Noah Bennet/HRG/Claire's dad become a bad ass all over again...

If he does indeed die, as predicted by the painting, then the show will become less interesting because Noah is pretty much the really interesting character, you always wonder what he's up to and how much he knows...And not to mention, overall motives...

Awards mean nothing. They're little metal statues given out by pretentious TV people who like to pat themselves on the back.

Don't the best shows suffer Sophomore Slumps??

The problem with Heroes this year is that the story line is moving too slow. Hiro's epic in ancient Japan is not getting to the point - let's be real, all we really care is what the "S" symbol truly mean. Also, the Brother-sister team with Sylar - we all know what's going to happen, yet they keep repeating the same scene over and over. Peter's story - ok - that has some movements, but it's still quite slow. Plus if they want to sell the sex factor (Milo Ventimiglia naked), at least pair him up with a better looking girlfriend or perhaps use Sylar instead. There's always something sexy about a bad boy...

I'm not caring for the characters this season. I don't give a shit about Claire and her boyfriend. I actually cringe when I see West. He's creepy and annoying. I want to fucking strangle Maya. I wish Sylar would just get his powers back and kill her. The Hiro in ancient Japan story is boring. The only thing I'm interested in is Noah and the Haitian (isn't it about time they name him, lol) in search of the paintings. The show's still a little early in the season, so it'll hopefully pick up, and the new characters (we have far too many >_<) will hopefully serve a purpose other than to be annoying.

I really liked the first season because I was regularly surprised as to where they'd go next with storylines, members of a large cast are often expendable and therefore easy to worry over what might happen with them, and the overall plot seemed well thought out. This season I'm just not that invested in the overall plot. I don't think storylines are any slower this season, it's just that a minute with certain characters seems l;ike a lifetime. Also, unpopular as the opinion might be, I cannot stand that Sylar is alive and on my TV. Though the twins may rival him in body count, they seem to mostly act in self-defense (and the guy twin is cute; I'm shallow that way), whereas Sylar is EVIL and needs to go. Plus, most 'new' characters seem to have variations of powers that have appeared before. It's too early for redundancy.
Too bad they couldn't make Peter's powers wrok only when shirtless. That's a plot development I could get behind.:-)

TV Guide

Heroes' second season may be coming to a close a lot sooner than expected due to the forthcoming apocalypse, also known in some circles as the damn writers' strike.

Sources confirm that the show is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current "Generations" arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped.

NBC Puts Heroes Origins on Hold
Source: Variety

Variety reports that NBC is putting the kibosh on "Heroes: Origins" -- and the possibility of a strike contributed to the decision.

The network has indefinitely shelved production on the planned six-episode spin-off of its Monday hit. The series -- which had attracted heavy hitters such as Eli Roth, Kevin Smith and Michael Dougherty (Superman Returns) -- was set to premiere later this season while "Heroes" was on hiatus.

Now NBC has decided to not move forward with the production, at least for now.

The trade says that NBC Universal entertainment co-chairs Ben Silverman and Marc Graboff didn't want to move forward with the project given the financial uncertainties of a possible WGA work stoppage.

Insiders cautioned that "Heroes: Origins" isn't completely dead and could very well be revived at a later date, perhaps as soon as next season.

I was totally confused about last nights epi. Now Matt has his dad's powers? Since when are they hereditary? The Niki thing is so goddamn confusing at this point my head is spinning. I don't like West. The Peter thing and Hiro thing are being drawn out way too far. I don't know...I think I need to re-watch the last two just to figure out what's going on.
