Heroes - The Return Thread

Heroes definitely keeps getting better and better.

I don't know what it is about Sylar; the raw, insatiable thirst for power or the fact that he's so freaking hot. Nevertheless, I'm drawn to him and his character.

I think what really struck me most in this episode was the whole realization at the end with Isaac and his death...it was kind of creepy. At least we know Sylar dies and that somebody knows how to stop him. Who that somebody is...I'm sure it'll be a huge surprise.

The more I watch Heroes the more I'm compelled not to its action scenes, but more to its philosophical implications. A lot of stuff they talk about on there, about the pursuit of power, the Great Man theory, and the nature of human beings. It's all strangely compelling in a way.

Not to mention the immeasurable number of hotties.

OH, and HIRO! That was something I was dissapointed in!! Where's HIRO!?

He's my favorite. :p

I have a sneaking suspicion Hiro and his sword will play a huge part in the downfall of Sylar. Decapatation anyone ?

It was kickass wasn't it, so many crazy things happened. We find out that Lindermen and Mrs. Pertrelli both have powers, who else really wants to see what she can do. Mohinder may agree to to join Primatech. Lindermen does have ties to the company and now has Miccah, and possibly the biggest Isaac is now dead, and next episode we see into the future.

Other things I would like say. Yes, Candice is a bitch, and while I would like her to be around for a little while to see her powers, but I still want to see her die a violent death at the hands of either Nikki or Hanna by the end of the season. Also since I brought her up to those the read the Graphic Novels has she been mentioned recently I fucking want to see her again.

It's late so I won't say too much about the actual episode tonight. But tomorrow, be prepared peeps.

Anyway, I actually just got done watching the live feature with the cast. Everyone looked great. Something funny I noticed is that Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder) sounds like he's from Orange County or something in real life meanwhile Santiago Cabrera (Isaac) is the one with the Indian-British sounding accent in real life.

Also, a few little tidbits Tim Kring (the creator) let slip in regards to the show were that before the end of the season we will actually finally see all the heroes in a single scene together. He also let slip that the theme for next season will be titled 'Generations' (the one for this season, he said, is 'Genesis') and that Linderman, Hiro's father and Nathan and Peter's mother would play a huge role in next season.

Finally, a question was asked about Simone and Isaac in regards to them coming back. I can't say too much about Isaac, but it was hinted he'd make a return or may not even really be dead. For Simone, Tim actually let slip that we'd seen here return twice, which is a spoiler, since we've only seen her return once. So, make what you will of that statement, but he seemed to be a little embarassed to have let it slip so maybe it means something. It would certainly explain why both Isaac and Simone were in Peter's vision.

Night guys. I'll be reading and responding to some of your thoughts tomorrow.

ok...so I thought the episode was great last night!!

So are we all thinking that Linderman's "super friends" were Mrs. Petrelli, Hiro's Dad, and possibly Eric Robert's character? And I can't wait to find out what powers Mrs. Petrelli has!!

Issac's death scene was great! and I at first was confused about how he was telling people about Sylar's death...but then I picked up that he probably has it all in the comic book he sent out earlier in the episode. So I wonder who he sent it too...cause i'm sure he didn't really send it to his publisher.

Hiro and Ando's storyline has been boring for quite awhile and i'm dissapointed cause they were my favs in the beginning....but hopefully now that they are in the future it'll get more interesting.

I love that next season is gonna focus on the older generation....that'll be great...it'll be like a whole other show!

I hate Candice. Her power is cool, but I SO want Jessica to rip that bitch in half.

Peter gets more and more awsome in every episode. I can't wait for the big showdown between him and Sylar. Let's see Sylar recover from a shard of glass to the head. That glass scene was one of the coolest thing I've ever seen, though. And then Mohinder slammed the list into Sylar...that scene was just orgasmic...

Next week should be interesting, but I really want to get to the resolution.

has anyone else put two and two together and realized Linderman is Nathan's father. Hint--healing abilities in him and Claire....

An interesting theory, but debunked by the comic series "War Buddies" on NBC.com.

Linderman and Mr. Petrelli (Nate and Pete's father) met in Vietnam for the first time, and not to mention that Nathan was born while his pop was still serving his tour of duty. Of course, that's just the current evidence.

In regards to bostonboy20's comments: "So are we all thinking that Linderman's "super friends" were Mrs. Petrelli, Hiro's Dad, and possibly Eric Robert's character?" "...cause i'm sure he didn't really send it to his publisher"

Lose Eric Roberts, but bring in Simone's father. Rumour has it that Charles had some type of power kicking around, due to his building's connection to the Company. Seeing how Bennet was given Claire atop it, Claude was hiding out there, and so forth.

As for Issac's comic, it probably went to Bennet....Or at least he thought it would go to Bennet. Since Issac was working with the Company, he probably sent the copy off to Primatech Paper hoping Bennet would use the information to take Sylar down. Instead, it will probably end up in Thompson's hands, and probably end up with Mohinder who will pass it on to Nathan or one of the other heroes.

Then we have Linderman and his powers, and more importantly his lack of care for .07% of the world's population.

The important thing I think our fellow JUBers have missed so far, would be this painting:
heroespics.jpg

The first is Issac's painting of Nathan, currently owned by Linderman but in Nathan's possesion. The second, was painted by Sylar, after taking out Issac.

The common rumour/theory out there is that it shows the true nature of Nathan after he becomes President. The skewed background, the disformed monsterous hands, suggests Nathan will see the world with an outlook that is much different then those around him, and that he will be a negative impact on those around him or those he "touches".

Whether or not this second picture represents Nathan immediatly, or sometime after being President for a long time, remains to be seen.

The second theory is that the man is actually Sylar, after he somehow assumes control of the Presidency. (Which doesn't make much sense to me...)

But yes, that's the major point I've seen lacking on the board here thus far and thought I should impart on my fellow Heroes addicts.

Also, if you aren't reading the comics at NBC, START!

SPOILER FROM CURRENT COMIC:
Hiro reflects on the destruction of New York, before he contacted Peter, and reveals that it is Sylar who causes the explosion, not Peter. Whether this remains true, due to Hiro's interaction with the past, remains to be seen.

Tidbits like that make the comics VERY important to remain caught up on!

Yes she is a bitch but i think i like her, well, i think it's more i like her power. Oh the naughty things i could do with that power lol.

While her power is definitely cool, it's pretty cheap the way it's continually used to trick the audience. Although, I can't wait until Peter get's around her to use it against her. She'll probably be dead before the end of the season. Niki/Jessica will kill her.

So are we all thinking that Linderman's "super friends" were Mrs. Petrelli, Hiro's Dad, and possibly Eric Robert's character? And I can't wait to find out what powers Mrs. Petrelli has!!

Again, might I point you to my earlier post with more or less a confirmation of that straight from the creators mouth. Season 2=Generations. SO, all the old people (Lindermn, Mama Petrelli, Charles Deveaux, etc)=important, que?

has anyone else put two and two together and realized Linderman is Nathan's father. Hint--healing abilities in him and Claire....

Earlier in the season I wanted to bring up the possibilty that powers may be a family thing. I mean, it is in their DNA and genes but that didn't necessarily mean they recieved their abilities from the parents, since we have characters around (example Niki) who at least one parent doesn't have an ability.

However, now I'm almost certain that at least one parent needs to have an ability before you can get one as well, or at least, that seems to be what is being hinted at with the strong sense of keeping things as close knit as they are on this show.

I don't, however, quite know that I agree that Linderman is their father. It would definitely make sense, but I'm not ready to buy into that quite yet, especially since we don't know enough about either Mama Petrelli or Linderman, not to mention Peter and Nathan's father.

Whether or not this second picture represents Nathan immediatly, or sometime after being President for a long time, remains to be seen.

Which brings up something that is confusing me about this show and all the future stuff. Wouldn't altering one thing that was supposedly supposed to happen in effect alter everything else that was supposed to happen, if only slightly? I mean, obviously New York isn't going to explode, which would alter the entire vision Peter had and all those paintings that Issac painted.

If that's the case, then wouldn't him becoming president not be such a sure thing? I know it's defnitely still possible, cosnidering there's no way New York is going to blow up and .007% of the population isn't going to be wiped out, but still....

Maybe that goes towards what you were saying about him shifting towards the 'evil' side and seeing things in shades of grey. Maybe in one outcome, he is 'good' but since the future is changed, he becomes 'evil'.

I think I'm confusing myself again, lol.

That's another possibility.

Chances are, Sylar's painting represents what will happen if New York explodes, whereas Issac's painting represents what will happen if New York doesn't explode.

This can be explained by Nathan's actions. Currently, Nathan believes to become President he must allow New York to be destroyed. As such, that would make it easier for him to make decisions afterward that benefit himself, which would in turn create Sylar's dark future for Nathan.

However, if Nathan tries to stop Peter or Sylar (who ever the bomb really is), then Issac's future will occur as Nathan won't sacrifice his morals for personal power.

I think the show, in regards to time anyways, is using the idea of parallel existances. In that essentially two choices will create a divergent reality. One reality where the bomb went off and Nathan shifts towards a darker persona.

And another where the bomb was stopped, and Nathan shifts towards a lighter persona, that seeks the best for those around him.

Whether or not that will happen...Who knows...

So, anyone think Jessica/Niki is going to tear Linderman a new one?

^

Perhaps...But then Linderman can just stand in the back and keep healing her, kind of like annoying Shaman in RPG Video Games...

I think Niki/Jessica will be more pissed with Linderman, rather than one of his lackies. I mean if someone took your son, you'd want the guy behind it all not just the one who helped him do it.

Granted, she's going to kick Candice's ass too...But she'll be gunning for Linderman...Hopefully, Malcolm McDowell gets a few more episodes before that happens though...I love seeing that crazy old fella on the tv...

Would it be too much to hope for that he rapes someone whilst singing "Singin' in the Rain" and then proceeds to beat someone to death with a large plaster penis?

Hey in case anyone can catch it, the cast of Heroes is on Larry King Live right now.

What a time not to have CNN...Maybe I should add that news package to my cable subscription...

I did get to see the online links at CNN, two short videos that are about 2 minutes or so each.

Just think, only a day till the next episode...Can't wait!

It's 9:20, and I'm watching the "five years in the future episode. I think I've already figured out one secret. Future Peter is really Sylar. Explains the scar (no healing ability, and his ability to turn off the t.v., at the bar, without touching it.

Ya know, I was really apprehensive about a "future" episode...but damn, I am really really liking this! I'll be back...

Hmm...interesting. But I think there is more to the scar than we know. Peter probably got all of those powers from others in the past. Just my thoughts.

So do I......but he IS hot. ;)

Oh totally. I mean I'd hope he'd give me a good fuck before eating my brain.

I can't wait to see what newboy, Reaper, Pro, and everyone else has to say about this episode!! I feel like I'm gonna pop!

(!)

LoL, that's hot (I think I owe Paris a nickel).

Anywho that was a pretty good episode, I liked the fact that at least Niki took her body back...
