I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and have a very deep phobia of STD's, especially herpes. I need someone to give me some answers and put my mind at ease after last Wednesday nights event.

Long story short, I had my penis out at a shady club while I was giving oral to another guy. A different person came up to me while I was on my knees and put his mouth on my penis. I of course freaked, trying to push him off with my hands, him resisting. He had it there for 4 seconds. 10 minutes later he did it again, another 4-5 seconds. I told him to fuck off.

I was so drunk, I can't remember his face but I remember seeing a pimple on his chin which is freaking me out. I already had a panic attack, I already cried, I'm already exhausted especially after a 6 hour bus trip home tonight, just getting back an hour ago.

The reason I'm concerned is because here and there I have a tingle feeling in my penis, but every time I go and check I see absolutely nothing on my penis. No red spots, no pain, no sores.

My friends told me my mind is playing tricks on myself which it has done before. I just want some answers as to how likely it is that I have received genital herpes.

I have foreskin, it wasn't even pulled back. When I told him I don't get oral without a condom he looked at me like nobody does that and that was weird.

This really isn't like me, but the scenario already went down.

I'm hoping someone can give me some statistics and hopefully put my mind at ease. So far, 3 days, no real signs.

Oh, and with genital herpes, if someone has it, how does the outbreaks work? I understand it is in your body for the rest of your life, but I also gather that a break out can happen and you take medication for it to go away, then it comes back in a few weeks, etc.? So 1 week sores, medication, gone for a few weeks?

I'd look it up, but that'll make me go crazy. Right now I'm just playing a waiting game.

I have the best solution for you . Stop going to skanky clubs and see a doctor if it worries you.

My advice, relax. And I second that you stop going to skanky clubs with your cock hanging out.

If the guy had herpes, it was likely oral herpes, or herpes simplex type 1 HSV1, otherwise known as the cold sore. It is likely you are already infected with HSV1. By middle age, 90% of the population will be infected with it. Genital herpes is type 2 (HSV2). One can get HSV2 orally, and HSV1 below the waste. Indeed, I read a statistic that something like 50% of genital herpes infections are HSV1.

When one gets a herpes simplex infection outside the area it usually infects, i.e. genital HSV1, the first outbreak is usually quite mild, and there is a good chance you will not have another outbreak again. Indeed, should you get HSV1 genitally, chances are you will never get HSV2 genitally, even if you are exposed, because it has an inoculating effect (although not 100%). The Mayo Clinic and CDC have very good web sites for you to research this further. The CDC also has a very good hotline.

Should you think you have an outbreak of herpes, go to the doctor immediately and have it tested, BUT MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR A TYPE SPECIFIC test. I was once tested for herpes and came up positive on a test done on the sore. Doctors all say those tests are fool proof, that they are never wrong. Unfortunately, my doctor did not order a type specific test, i.e. what type of herpes I had. I went to an infectious disease specialist for a blood test and tested negative for both HSV 1 and 2 (and negative for every other std). WTF??? I just wanted to know what type I had. The doctor said the initial test was not wrong, and my body probably just had not produced the antibodies for the virus. I would have to wait three months and get retested.

Three months later, I was retested and tested negative again for both types. The blood types are extremely accurate, so I was confused. Couldn't get in touch with my doctor right away, so I called the CDC hotline. They could not initially explain how the test results were negative when the first test was positive. I then explained that I also had had a rash near the sore that was tested that the doctor thought was shingles. The person at the CDC said the shingles could have caused the first test to be positive because shingles is another type of herpes, herpes zoster, that anyone who ever had chicken pox has in their body. When I spoke to my infectious disease doctor, he told me the same thing.

Anyway, I hope you find all of this helpful (and not too long). Check back here soon, if I made any mistakes or omissions, Kara will weigh in. I think he knows more than CDC!!..|

Thank you for this, this makes things more clear.

Honestly, what's tripping me out is feeling a pull or a sensation on my foreskin or in my penis but then it goes away after I stop thinking about it. Last night I swear I felt a burning sensation while I was lying in bed, but I figured I was drowsy and woke up with nothing. Sometimes when I feel something, I readjust my underwear and I feel better.

3 and a half days and nothing. I just want to get through 7 days to feel secure.

Given your description, your risk of HSV is very low.

But as with all of these situations, go have an STD battery done to put your mind at ease.

And just a general comment- impairment and sex with strangers is not a wise combination. So, if you're tempted to tie one on, make sure you're around people you trust. And if you're going to play with strangers, make sure you have your wits about you. Even if condoms are in use, you want to make sure that they are actually put on and that they are intact.

Herpes does not look like a pimple. If you don't know what it looks like, do a Google search for herpes images. That might help you put your mind at rest.

Second, if you're so worried about STDs, why were you sucking someone off?

Sounds like a case of hysteria to me, but stop sucking off random people unless you want to get the real thing.

I know I sound like a slut, but I'm really not and I learned a valuable life lesson.

It's been 5 days and I have a slight rash between my thigh on my left right up against my pelvis. It's so mild and so small I can barely see it and I have to lift my leg to see it. I'm going to get tested tomorrow with a swap of the spot.

If I have it, it's mild. If I don't, I don't. If I do, I'll have to learn to accept it and move on.

Something I didn't know was that 1 in 5 people have this. That sounds like a fucking lot to me.
