I think cars are genetically programed to jump at the sight of something that might be a snake. I don'tthink anything else accounts for theextreme reaction. An example of Darwinian evolution. Cats that jump at the sight of a snake near them live to reproduce. Those that do not jump may not live and over a period the reaction becomes an genetically imprinted reaction..

There was an article about this in the paper yesterday calling it animal cruelty because it triggers the animals fear reflex.

I don't like the fact that people do this simply to post the video on the internet. I saw a video where someone had a cardboard box on the edge of a small stair well and was flashing a red laser light into the box and of course the cat jumps in, then the cat and the box slide down the steps. The cat wasn't hurt, but I really don't like it and don't understand the entertainment out of it.
