For everyone not familiar - the last Monday in May is Memorial Day in the United States.

Tomorrow is a bank (ie public) holiday in the UK as well, although not Memorial Day. I think it's what used to be called the Whitsun bank holiday.
After a month of dry, warm and sunny weather, bank holiday rules now apply and the weather has turned cooler and breezy with showers. I have no particular plans today, but will be going out for a few drinks and a meal with the bf tomorrow afternoon.
Interestingly, I read an Agatha Christie short story a few days ago that had a reference to Whit Monday.I think it's what used to be called the Whitsun bank holiday.
Later, I think I'm going to see a matinee of Friendship. Not a fan of the blockbusters released this weekend. I like Paul Rudd's sense of humor. He's aging well.

Thanks! Too late for the holiday weekend, since there is no way I'll get to the library today. But I'm curious to take a look when I get the chance.A bit off topic maybe, but I've just finished reading Agatha Christie: A Very Elusive Woman by Lucy Worsley. If you're looking for something to do on holiday Monday (see how I got back on topic?), I'd highly recommend it.
Today, I built a firewood rack. I made it 8 ft wide and 4ft tall. Didn't think I would fill it all the way to the top in 1 day with the wood I'd been splitting the last few days.

I've decided to install a wood burning stove for the winter. That's why I'm piling up firewood.
It doesn't need it but I plan on putting a roof over it. I just didn't have my hand circular saw with me so I'll do it later.Does that need a roof to prevent the firewood getting damp?
Well, considering that in Colonial days, the average household utilized 40 cords of wood (4 foot x 4 foot x 8 foot) per year for heating and cooking, I'd say that you've got yourself coveredToday, I built a firewood rack. Remember that prior to the industrial revolution, wood was the most prominent and available fuel.
