what a stupid show is this ?
who the fuck is gonna take part in that show and who is gonna watch it?

We had a show like this years ago. The twist was that if the girl picked a straight guy they get £50,000 each. If she picks a gay guy he gets £100,000 - or something like that. the money may have been smaller.
In the end she chose a gay guy, and we got to see the fall-out. He said he did it to prove that not all gay guys fit the stereotype, and that being gay in itself doesn't diminish masculinity, which was a good point to make, but it was lost through the whole "gay guys are deceptive" message that was what most people got from it. He offered her the full amount of money, saying he didn't do it for the money. She said they'd split it, and they seemed friendly in the end.

There was this European show called ”Gay Army”, and it was the most insulting and stupid show ever; this types of programs instead of proving how normal and equal gay men are in comparison with straights, it enhance more the stereotypes of gays as effeminate and obnoxious men.

People may not notice but we are already out there doing every possible work or task that you could imagine, because sexual orientation has nothing to do with social or labor skills.

Yeah, I watched that too, well, a couple or 3 shows. Then it got rather boring. All the coming into and out of rooms shit. I hope we have an end to such "reality" non-reality crap like Big Brother and I'm a Celeb Get me out of here type rubbish. I'd much rather watch a good interesting thought provoking documentary about something real in this world, like the old Horizon programs, or The World Around Us, or anything in the David Attenborough vein.

Ugh, I find this rather offensive. This is just what we don't need to break down the stereotype of gay men. Plus, there was an almost identical show called Boy Meets Boy on several years ago with the same ridiculous premise, only that one had a nice guy date other guys ...some of who were straight which he wasn't aware of. I think ithat show and any like it is just repulsing...

Seriously, this kind of show is disastrous for gay rights and gay acceptance. Just like the ranch show mentioned above (Playing It Straight?) the gay guy comes out as the bad guy who's decieved the pretty girl in the end. The general public ends up hating the gay guy for lying.

We should be complaining to the producers that this show should not be made.

](*,) ](*,)

What creativeness this show demonstrates - you get to "play fun and games" with the emotions of the females involved, you get to play "fun and games" with the emotions of the homosexuals involved and then you get to play "fun and games" with all the stereotypes you can create so that any given homosexual will have more choices to chose from with which he can determine he "fits in with."

as for the local village idiots opinion:grrr:

nothing makes me want to break femurs more than any of these "Coming out for the entertainment of others" shows.

Seeing self-hating gay guys going on to the show to claim they're "Straight Acting" just makes me pity them. Seeing people look for a bunch of outward stereotypes is enough to make me vomit.

Those guys don't do it to break stereotypes.. they do it to prove to everyone that they're not Big Fags like the guys who deserve the ridicule of the general population.

Love to enter that.. id prove the fuckers wrong.

None of my mates guessed, some still dont beleive me... my folks havent got a CLUE.. really.. havent got a clue.

you know, I was going to let this go because I like you.

but someone such as yourself REALLY needs to tread lightly.

Referring to people who might think you're gay as "fuckers" is showing a very ugly internal homophobia. The people who are doing this show are exploiting your own insecurities.. you wear that "NOBODY KNOWS I'M GAY" like a badge of honour, as if being in the closet is some kind of achievement.

Trust me, Joe.. it ain't.

I'm with the don't like it don't, don't watch it camp. I just hope it bombs and the POS gets cancelled after 3 eps, like the US version of playing it straight.

If the girl has no reason to suspect anything then sure, but the whole point in the game is for her to try and find out who's gay.

You're seriously over reacting to this and doing a good enough job yourself of enforcing a gay stereotype.

In the end how will she know he's gay? He'll say he's gay. Otherwise what clues would she have other than the stereotypes? Even a bisexual guy should be able to see that. They are right, there is no show without the stereotypes. Will the gay guys on the show slip up and suddenly talk about his love of Barbra?

I'm with everybody else on this, it's total bullshit. It's just like the thread title says HEY FAGS! CAN YOU FOOL A STRAIGHT PERSON BY NOT ACTING LIKE A TOTAL PUSSY?

One more of those not interested, won't watch people.Isn't there a compelling or original idea anymore?

This may be an ad for the new show premiering on Lifetime TV ("television for women" as they advertise it.) A woman will meet three men: 1 gay, 1 single str8 and 1 str8 in a relationship. If she picks the single str8 guy they get a vacation together; if she picks one of the others that guy wins the trip. It sounds very boring, but not very different from a lot of the junky dating shows on MTV

The only damage being caused here is by guys like you who are always trying to make a scene, shoving your own words in wherever you can just to put some kind of a spin on things.

"This is Reality TV but you will be acting as straight as possible." interpret that as you will.

Uh huh, and still I don't see anything even close to a mention of 'sissy fags' or masculinty issues. Those are your words.
If you're interpreting it that way, that's your problem, so how about you stop acting all high and mighty and taking them out on other people?

I have to agree with vermilion on this one, I mean with a title like that; who do you think you are, William Randolph Hearst???

Mattie, we just got done with your tearjerker-of-a-thread where everyone and their cousin waxed poetic on your prosaic account of the thanksgiving from hell ("capital job":roll:and all that) and now you feel emboldened to point out your view of a "sensational" reality tv show, like some 2-bit, hit-and-run hack sounding off for the New York Post.....whatever!! [-X

Sit down, Rosie!

It's just a game show. The networks are trying to make money. People with far, far too much time on their hands and far too little brain in their heads will watch it, like they do with all the other ridiculously unentertaining and indubitably pointless shit on the box. People with stars in their eyes will probably apply to be on it, and why not if the money is good?

It may or may not be entertaining. In here, we do occasionally ask each other if x person might be gay because of how s/he acts, looks, speaks, dresses and in particular what s/he may have said to us et cetera, so this is merely the same principle applied on a larger scale. In fact, it may turn out to be a viable idea because there is very obviously a fair amount of interest in the topic.

But is it really worth all of us getting our panties in a bunch? Somehow, I doubt it.
