Oh, You Know!
Hello! Mmk. So I know that everybody on here just gets on to show their goods, and while I absolutely don't judge anybody for that, it's not for me! So if I'm not really allowed to post here I'm sorry? I just didn't know if it mattered or not. :P

Nevertheless, I wanted to put up some pictures of myself somewhere that I could get a good opinion on some things from people that don't actually know me. So FaceBook and MySpace are out of the question. The photos are PG-13 at best, but the purpose of them is for self-promotion for my career. It's geared towards music (be sure to tune into American Idol this coming January to catch a glimpse of me - made it one audition away from Hollywood - that's actually kinda far!) but could end up going into the direction of modeling. Note that I'm not currently promoting myself whatsoever, just wondering if there's anything to promote, really!

And that's why I need your help! What kind of vibe would my photos give? What "look" would I be classified as. What do you get when you see the pictures?! :)

. . . and yes - most of the ones I'm going to post are very un-natural photos! If you want more candid shots, just ask!

Looking good dude. Like the undies! But most of the pics are blurry, and/or too much light. You have the looks, but can you really sing? lol

Well, as you asked:

If you want to model, you need a look that is commercially viable for mainstream stuff. Ditch the piercings, the funky hair cut, visible tats, eye liner, f'd up looking make up etc. That crap works at the night club, not as a model. You are not a vogue male fashion model, yet. To pay the bills you have to do mainstream work as you get where you want to go.

That kind of stuff does not sell hot dogs, Kraft Cheesy Mac and shirt's at Macy's. You may want to look the way you do, but every time you add something to your look that does not fit the mainstream, you make yourself less likely to get work in print, commercial, film or stage. If they (casting directors, companies, etc) want the aforementioned items, they will add very realistic fakes to you so that you have that look.

Look at the vast majority of the guys who are doing modeling (at all levels) and mimic their look. Just 'cause it looks good to you, at the club or with your friends does not mean it will work in the modeling/acting world.

Get professional shots taken. The ones you have seem like your personal interpretation of “art.” They are just not very clear. They are not terribly good or artsy. Art photos, while good for artists, are not good for selling yourself to the folks who will actually pay you.

This does not mean you are not hot, good looking, etc. You are. Very much so. You just need to make yourself sellable. And remember, your model look and your music look may not be the same. Freak and personal style work in music, not in modeling.

Thanks! And yes, I can really sing. I passed several auditions on American Idol this coming season - you see, in order to go to Hollywood, you have about 8 prelims you have to pass through. I went smoothly through 6 of them (about 9,500 get cut on the FIRST one). At the seventh, I was given the option to sign a 5 year contract with American Idol to bypass the entire audition process for the next 5 years and go straight to the executive producer audition where I left off. Sooo, here's to hoping!

And yeahh - I've done a lot of other music related things and received some delightful reviews :)

And thanks for your input! Just a few things though:
I do have four tattoos, yes. But you cannot see a single one of them in any of these pictures? They're all VERY hidden for aforementioned reasons. And I very much beg to differ when you say that they would be of a hinderance to a singer or a model. My lip is pierced - not multiple facial piercings. It's almost 2010. It really is ok to have a piercing nowadays. And the last set of photos, plus one more are the only ones I had makeup on in. But look at where the music industry is going. My style, makeup, and all over appeal is 100% of where the mainstream is going. In order to be a success, you need to be one step ahead of every trend. Look at the ones who are making it huge in the industry. They're bizzare/funky. They sell like no other. And thank you :) I do appreciate that you're not calling me ugly - just giving your input. :D
