As many of you may know, I remain on edge every day over the last year because of international events...particularly the invasion of Ukraine by rrrrZZZia.

For weeks after, I didn't sleep well and combined with COVID and the pressures of projects in my my own company... and some health issues for my partner and me, and horrible damages to our orchards and other trees and buildings from winter weather this year, I have stretched myself pretty thin. As I wait in dread to move beyond the anniversary and promised terror of this week in Europe, and we see my partner's specialist this week and I cope with every day of healing from a stress fracture in my left foot....I need distraction and nonsense.

Post what you've got to take my mind elsewhere...even anything that lampoons my presence here or takes a good natured poke at anything. Commedia del'arte, bad performances in any medium, stupid pet tricks...pull out all the stops.

I keep thinking that if I can make it safely to March...maybe perspective will return?

Try rewatching some really great movies from four, five, or six decades ago.

There were some true greats back there, and escapism is the goal of the medium for a reason.

Do they still sell codeine and tylenol over the counter in Canada? I stocked up the last time I was in Toronto.

One thing that works for me is watching nature documentaries. I like the ones with no fucking people in them. It's like you're on an earth that has somehow never been befouled by man.

Where's Mizzy? Are you on your fourth drink yet?

Failing all that, this is sure to work:

These have been great so far.

I spent our holiday 'Family Day' playing toss the mouse with Missy and napping with BooBoo.

And yeah. Red, Red wine.

Sorry Boo.

You can't easily get codeine over the counter now.
