Mine was 35% a few years back. I don't think I'll ever get that much anymore if I stick to the same company...

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I was astonished recently to get a 10% raise (and retroactive by several months!), but that was after four years of no raise at all. God knows when I'll see another one again.

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

My going rate was $50, but then one night this old guy offered me $300. I took the raise of course.

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

7.5% and it was backdated six months. That was in 2004 and I haven't rec'd anything like it since

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

At age 55, it was a 50% increase or nearly $20,000.
That is the best I could do so far. Recently, I experienced a
33% increase.

If you're looking for a sugar daddy, I am leaving my phone number or address.

40% just now by moving to new york.

YAY!!!

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

I went from making $5 an hour, working eight hours a week, to making about $20,000 a year. Percentagewise, that's pretty damn nice. :)

My highest was a 7% increase. But I once moved to another country, and the salaries there are much lower. I had a similar job, but there was a 33% DECREASE. The cost of living is maybe only 10% less than the first place I lived in.

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

i was looking at one of those social security statement things you get telling there will be no money by the time i retire...

anyway i made a jump once from 8,000 to like 16,000 so that was 50%.

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

i still haven't had an increase. me and my officemates are talking about this and taking this matter to the management. almost all in my department are new grads and had only been working for 6-9 months. i dont think it should matter, but yeah we will soon b demanding an increase.

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

I got 11% and 9% in consecutive years, but that was because I was promoted twice, and also because it turned out I was the lowest paid person in the office at both levels. I'm still underpaid now too!

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

well i still didn't do any "real" and "fulltime" job, but in one of my students jobs i got once an extra pay/bonus which was ~280% of my usual monthly pay :)

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

300% when my boss actually looked at my sales record in the Art Gallery I was directing in New York. He also let me hire a secretary to answer calls and help with getting clients coffee or tea if I was busy. Before the raise, I worked completely alone, and still sold over 15 million in art in one year.

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

Is the raise you are getting enough to offset the inflation? Seems to me, things are getting much more expensive faster than the rate that I am getting a raise...this sux!

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

I was told that to keep your money rising, move on every two years. When you join, you're stuck on a particular increase scale, and when you've hit the top, you move and get put into a new level.

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

I won't tell you about the largest, but I will tell you about the smallest increase.

It was years ago. Fifty cents an hour. It was just enough to put me into a higher tax bracket and I wound up taking home less pay than without the raise. I was so choked I called the HR in TO an told them they could keep their fifty cents as they needed it more than I did. I got another raise right away.

I will never forget it, the insult, then the reward for speaking up.

That's choice.
Maybe even prime.
How do you list this on your income tax return?:p

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

I once worked for a small store one and asked the manager for a 10% increase and he ended up and he ended up giving me a .10 CENT increase! He said he "must have misunderstood me". I didn't stay THERE very much longer.

Not as bad as my CURRENT job though. The company I work for now actually gives you a payCUT in order to "make us work harder in order to get that money back". We are NOT on commission. Let's say you start at $9.00 an hour. Sounds great right? If you do not meet a certain sales goal in a three month period, they cut you by 10% to $8.10 an hour. Then lets say you actually DO meet the sales goal three months later at you next review. You then get a 10% increase. Back to old pay, right? NOPE. 8.10 plus .81 cents is now $8.91 an hour. You always lose more than you gain!

Re: Highest salary increment (%) you've ever recei

I was promoted once from full time worker to manager, and got a 61% increase in pay.
