Have you ever tried hiking? Did you like it, do you want to try it?

Yes, I used to hike frequently. I hope to resume the activity very soon.

>>> if the one on the right were coming I would give it a shot.

^yes.

I have and I always come to close encounters with snakes and that freaks me out.
I'd be without a worry with Mr. Grey Boxers ;)

never tried it, but if they were the prize for reaching the top, I would in a heartbeat. You think they fucked after this pic was taken? I like to think they did. :)

It's practically a stereotype of our local lifestyle. But, absolutely! Many times every year. I can hop in my car and in merely 20 minutes be at the start of a beautiful hike.

Add on another hour or so of driving and I can get to a remoter trail:

I'd like to go snoeshowing sometime, but my pickup hates driving on slick roads.

i live for camping and canoeing and backpacking ..|
most all of my old backpacking buddies have wives and families, so not much of that anymore :grrr:
another reason not to live the "straight" lie:^o

so i must find new friends with similar interests (*8*)
unfortunately MY OWN circumstance recently changed when i accepted a full time position after many years of finding independent work (!) .... but then up jumped (or fell) the economy ...

now my own free time to do the things i love is limited ...
but i absolutely LOVE my work :=D: and the $$ reward is quite nice ..|... ahh ... life's great challenges !!!](*,)

i would love to have a hike-in JUB meet somewhere nice ..|... i'd try like HELL to get to it :jab:
but i'd love a small camping or hiking trip with a few new friends ... maybe even more :gogirl:

these photos are from Big Bend in the Chihuahuan Desert in southwest Texas on the Rio Grande ...
not the familiar image of a nearly lifeless arid expanse ...
it teems with flora and fauna ... and has several distinct ecological niches that are breathtaking
i've explored north and south of the border in those mountains and much deeper into Mexico as well
the photos are high resolution ... zoom into them ... awesome

I love hiking and camping with friends, especially with a very special someone:)

I'd go hiking with those two in the pic above :p

But, yes, I've gone hiking in the past. It's wonderful. The most memorable experience was hiking upstate New York during the fall. We saw brooks, streams and little waterfalls that were frozen. It was quite pretty :)

Hiking during the summer was the worst. I felt so terrible. It was very muggy -.-

I live in Washington. Every sunny day I'm hiking at some volcano.

Have you visited The Enchantments?

I haven't gone north of St. Helens, but the reports and photos I've seen are stunning.

Hiking is one of my favorite activities. I’ve backpacked over many hundreds of miles including numerous days in remote wilderness areas and lots of different terrains. It’s more fun when somebody else comes along, but you’d be surprised how many cool peeps you can meet along the way. I also participate in a gay hiking group that sponsors a variety of outings each year designed to accommodate different interests and skill levels. It’s a great way to socialize and have fun together while exploring nature. The pic below is from one of my solo hikes in Washington State. That journey concluded with several days hiking and camping on the beach after a couple weeks traversing the Olympic Peninsula. I met a number of guys during the hike and shared camp with several of them. Whether skinny dipping together in a glacial tarn or just chatting around a fire – I always enjoy meeting folks on the trail.

That's passion! ..|

Haven't been to the Enchantments, but want to go soooo bad after seeing my friend's photos of her backpacking trip there. Rainier is my stomping grounds, but St. Helens is a close second. ..|

i always wanted to hike and chill in the woods on a camping trip but i have nobody around me that is interested in doing so. everybody wants to stay in the city or the suburbs. with that said, i'm not doing it alone. if anybody here is in the new york city area and is interested in going away for some hiking in the delaware water gap, upstate new york or elsewhere that's not too far from nyc, holla @ me. i don't have a car but we can put some money to rent one. maybe the summertime is all good.

I got a nice backpack for xmas and I have been stocking it and think I am ready for my first solo. I plan on doing a two day hike this spring.

Maybe I will run into Vannie and his banjo. :p

The pulsating sap has been luring me out of doors. Unfortunately, all the high places are still covered in snow so a drive to the east end of the Columbia Gorge was a better choice.

Along Swale Canyon.

I'll post more photos when I can. It would be sweet if others contributed reports as our hemisphere's warm season begins...
