Hillary speaks - Sat 6/7/08 12 noon

This was, indeed, a well-done speech.
I have to admit that Hillary is incredibly intelligent, driven and tenacious, but the primaries just seemed to bring out the worst in her. Besides all that I'm happy to see the campaigns come together to cleanse the White House of GOP bullshit.

she did good

her speech making is still not so good - doesn't really talk TO people - but this was a toughie for her

i respect her and she did the right thing

i think she would not be a good choice for vp - that obama seals the deal with a conservative-ish pick - webb or hagel would guarantee indies don't abandon him

she shoulda/coulda won - had she jettisoned bill and many of her handlers early on

on her own - he's good - managed she sucks

he - the chosen one - ran an amazing campaign

how ironic that the newbie had the better organization

good luck hills

senator for life in NY

I really liked this article from Bruce Reed of the Slate. He talks about her trait that I find most admirable, which is her tenacity. He said:

In our lifetimes, we'll be hard-pressed to find a candidate made of tougher stuff than Hillary Clinton. Most candidates leave a race diminished by it. Hillary is like tempered steel: the more intense the heat, the tougher she gets.

He went on to talk about how over time as she was exiting the race, she had actually answered the one question people used to always ask, "Is America ready for a female president?" Leaving the race, she was more popular than ever and was even beating McCain in North Carolina, a state Bill had never won.

The longer the race went on, the more formidable she looked in the general election. In this week's CBS News poll, she was beating John McCain by nine points, even as she was losing the Democratic nomination

That was a really great speech.

Even though I am an Obama supporter, I really respect Hillary. It was wonderful seeing them fight for the nomination, it was a LONG fight, like she said, but that just made it more historic. I enjoyed her optimism, and I hope her supporters will continue to vote Democratic in November.
