With those two candidates in mind, Bernie KNEW that running as an Independent would guarantee that a Republican gets elected in 2016.

Nader (who aligns mostly Democrat) was one factor that got George W. Bush elected in 2000. There was voter suppression in Florida; Nader far exceeding the tiny Dem-Rep difference in that state; purges of African-Americans...etc. - "The fix was in" in Florida. The lack of ANY ONE of these factors would have given Florida to Gore. Without Nader running, all of the voter registration and purges and closed voting places and poor facilities at Democratic polling precincts would have still not prevented Gore from winning.

Similarly, Perot (who aligns mostly Republican) almost certainly cost George H. W. Bush reelection, and gave it to Bill Clinton in 1992.

It's a rather disgusting quirk of the American electoral system that, if somebody runs as an Independent and gets big recognition, it virtually guarantees the election of the WORST choice from that candidate's point of view.
 
It is the establishment, and its a poor showing against a candidate who was completely unknown prior to a year ago.

If hillary is so popular who does she need to get 50% of her money from wall street? If hillary is so popular why does bernie have more individual contributions than anyone to run for president and more than Barack Obama? The only thing you can say about Hillary is that shes a known commodity. People are not flocking to HRC because of her "policies" but because her voters are poor or snobs and shes their coprpoate welfare queen.

What policy positions are drawing people to HRC? Warmongers? I cant name one that she hasnt flip flopped on.

That's why she loses independent and liberal voters, shes been MIA on core progressive values with no substantive policy achievements and more dodging on questions people are asking.
 
As I've noted in another thread for Evanrick, coming onto the board and yelling at us isn't going to change one person's mind here. It isn't as though there is a new rolling audience of hundreds of people engaging in discussion here.

We get that he's angry and disappointed that voters are opting for Hillary over Bernie. But there's nothing to be gained by trashing Hillary or cherry picking polls to show how Bernie could win individual states or threatening that Bernie's supporters will all stay home on election day again and again.

If everyone spent their time explaining the substance of their candidate's record and ideas, instead of negative campaigning....the discussion can remain civil and even productive.
 
Yea but at this point we know we are not going to expect a civil discussion from him. I don't even agree with the constant trashing of Hillary but clearly he doesn't listen to anyone or consider anyone's arguments. He's just fueling the flames. It's not worth anyone's time.

His desire for "just" change, oh give me frikkin' break, all of the criticism of Bernie has been pretty mild and structural, and has nothing to do with his proposals, NO ONE has called him an immoral liar, and NO ONE has bashed him in the least little bit.

I don't know who came up with that "bro" shit, but I do remember that you were the last one using it.
