After the last snowfall I was out early taking some pics of the sleeping city during sunrise

If the pics are too big for your screen, try using ctrl+mousewheel to make them fit on the screen.

The sun was just going up

Nice glass buildings.
Looks like the buildings are empty.

they aren't. it's office space above and amusement stuff below though.
As I said it was early ;)

Those are really beautiful! Methinks I need to go round sometimes again :) hehe

but really though... does that marina ever freeze over? Because that would be totally cool! :)

It would be nice working in the building in the first photo. Nearly 180 degree views of the water. I don't know how you could pay attention to your work.

I have always enjoyed freshly fallen snow.......thanks for sharing the photos....... :elf::santa::elf:

The photos you took are stunning and the place you live looks amazing. Would love some of that snowy weather because its hot as hell here I hate heat, love cold lol.

The last two are really neat.
Although they have a somewhat Hitchcock-esque feeling to them.
Believe me .. that thought crossed my mind. It was a little bit eerie.

Hmmm and the water isn't completely frozen??? Nice quality pics though. You must have a decent camera at least because light levels are low yet good sharp details

It's an EOS 1000D :)
And for some pics I used high-dynamic range tonemapping on an exposure bracketed series.

Nice pics, and thanks for the trick... something new everyday... teehee.

Beautiful pics Corny - not what I would have pictured for Germany - don't know why - have no basis for saying that - i guess i think of it as "older" --
but the composition is all very good !! "Thanks for sharing".

Well it is a a "new" area. With modern buildings "interleaved" into an old "core".
In the first pic .. notice the old crane.
In the second pic you see some ruins intentionally left there.
On the back of me where the gull pics where taken, there are old warehouses with modern bars in them etc

I love the pic with the cute ducky and nice pigeons! :luv:

(I'm a fairly fanatical follower for feathered friends, frankly)

Corny, is that Hamburg?
