Our tounges touched for no more then 2-3 seconds... what's the odds I have gotten the HIV virus? I know it's slim to none, but my mind went through the fucking gutter this weekend.

He was in his mid twenties I think. Seems like a clean guy. I asked 2 nurses on a hotline and they said for saliva he would have to have a cut in his mouth for it to even enter his saliva and then to touch my tounge with it for 3 seconds, the odds were very improbable. She almost was even giggling, which I guess is a releaving thing.


Also, by the way, I don't even know if this guy has HIV. My mind and even my typing is frail at this moment... I don't even want to proof read this message. Thanks for the fast reply.

Sounds like you have had a rough week. Let me put your mind at rest.

'If' the guy was HIV you have NOT put yourself at any risk at all, you cannot catch HIV from kissing...period. With regards to herpes, the majority of the population has some form of Herpes virus in them, this varies from chicken pox, to cold sores.
What you did carried no risk whatsoever. NIL , ZERO

Please try to now forget this and put it behind you.

Thank you. I knew that, but I just needed to hear it again. I really was dilusional all saturday and a bit of sunday. I'm kind of upset with myself how I let my imagination take control of my reality. I'm thinking back to the day before yesterday on saturday and thinking how I was feeling tinglying in my mouth and jaw but it turns out that it just got really sore later and that's due to panic attacks and anexity. I realized that yesterday morning, but I still went to bed thinking I had Herpes. Didn't help that I had a realistic nightmare that I had HIV.

But it's all good now. I'm still going to get tested for Herpes and what ever else tommoro to put my mind at ease.

I received oral sex from a stranger four months ago (I know it's stupid, but let's get past that). I have found out I got HSV-1 from him :(, but I am worried about HIV now that I know he had HSV-1 and was also lying about being clean. Is there any reason for me to be worried? I don't really have any symptoms, although I've been more tired (sleepy) than normal the last few weeks, but I have had a huge amount of stress during that time..
 
Are you sure you got it from him? A majority of adults have HSV-1 in their mouths. Not just gay adults. Not just people who sleep around. Not just sexually active adults. All adults. That virus is very easily spread from doing something as simple as sharing a drink. Most people get it when they're kids. If you're worried about HIV, get tested. It'll put your mind at rest and most likely the result will come back negative if you've only done what you describe in this thread.

I know I got it from him because I have not had unprotected oral sex with anyone else, and the symptoms showed up for the first time almost immediately after my encounter with him. I know it is low risk to receive HIV from this encounter but I am just wondering if there is enough of a risk that I should get tested, or if I am just being overly paranoid (which I've been known to do lol)
 
Just go get tested. It'll make you feel better, I promise.
