hiv positive man in UFC - would it happen?

just what the title says.
could an hiv positive fighter enter into the UFC, or any other fighting league for that matter.

reason this question came to me...

i was just watching UFC 80, and it was so brutal. in 2 of the fights people got elbows to the forehead and they started bleeding all over the place. sans blood in the eyes, the fights kept going.


so i thought... 'wow... could someone who is hiv positive ever do this?'

yeah right.
i don't think so. mostly because of the health implications, and partly because of stigma.




but then they are hiv positive porn actors.
hmm!

I have a friend who is HIV+ and does marshall arts. He is not allowed to do combat exhibitions because of his status. I would not think UFC would knowingly allow someone with HIV to fight. Do they check contestants status? I have no idea...

I'd doubt it. People are pretty skittish about that and UFC tends to get bloody.

As UFC is a contact sport I would have serious doubts that they would be permitted to enter the competition...it is not worth the risk for UFC or the other competitors.

I am sure it's happened and is happening.Plus there are sometimes false negative blood test results when a person really is hiv positive.

I would highly doubt it. Too much blood transfer.
