This thread is a spin-off from another one that urged everyone to be tested and practice safe sex. Very good advice, indeed.

I am just curious as to what the population of this board is in terms of HIV... If you feel this is too personal, please just skip the poll.

I haven't been tested in eons, but since I haven't done anything that remotely resembles risky behavior in eons either, I'm going to assume I'm still negative.

January 23, 2010 Negative

I went to a clinic. The test was free and took about 20 minutes. Picked up some condoms on the way out. I don't understand why people just don't get tested. It is super simple.

I don't even think this is appropriate to post this poll. Not voting.
Why is it inappropriate? The poll is anonymous, and nobody is forcing anyone to vote.

As for me, I was last tested in 2004, I believe, and I was negative then. In the meantime, I've only been with one person, and we always used protection.

I haven't been tested in years, but I also haven't done anything in years which would be even remotely unsafe.

My sexual preference, when originally set years ago, just happened to be a preference which would be extremely safe years later when "safety" would become an issue. I'm strongly a frottage guy, and I have no issue at all with the rarity of sex.

I knew some people might take offense to the poll and that's why I qualified it by saying skip it if you don't feel comfortable. I also purposely made it anonymous so that people could feel anonymity.

I agree with some previous posters that this is a very important issue to discuss and to think about. If this poll urges even one person to go get tested who hasn't been -- or reminds people about the importance of safer sex -- then I think it is well worth its weight in gold.

Negative since 09. And since I'm dedicating my life to celibacy, it should stay that way. : )

As someone who was very sexually active in the 70s and early 80s, I have no idea how I remained free of the virus.

When the facts became known, I certainly began to practice safer sex. To have gotten to 60 and remained negative means the world to me.

This should have been a public poll.

----

I've been meaning on getting tested lately after having sex with someone who turned out to be a complete whore. Luckily, i'm abstaining until I can manage to get a negative test result.

I don't know if this even counts, but I ordered this 15-minute, instant at-home test where you put a blood sample on it and it came up negative.

well, I have never been tested yet, but I haven't done any sexual things with another beings besides myself !oops! so I think it's negative. :o

I'd like to say the I was negative, but truth be told I don't know.

I've always played safe, so I can roughly assume that I am negative, but until I get tested there is no way of knowing for sure.

I had to have some blood tests done a few weeks ago, and the doctor never mentioned anything when he gave me the results so I'm guessing I'm HIV negative.

No one's business if people are or aren't hiv+ unless you're fucking them. Someone being hiv+ doesn't affect me at all.

Yea that! ..|

I find it interesting that all these guys are saying "this poll is anonymous," yet in the same sentence they are bragging about their negative HIV status. Anonymity works both ways, whether you are neg or poz. Don't just think personal knowledge isn't personal when it makes you look "good" or "normal"---if it's personal when it makes you look "bad," then the same standards should apply for the opposite. Would all 62 of those "negative" guys in the poll proudly brag about their HIV status if they were HIV+?? Let's be real with ourselves, I think not....

Also, how accurate do you think a forum about someone's HIV status is going to be---like people are really going to be honest about their HIV status to a bunch of straingers anyway, nowadays.

Interesting.... #-o

Glad to say still negative after all these years. Wrap it up when fucking today and enjoy tomorrow.
