Welcome. What would be the difference between Healthcare Direction and healthcare advice?
Healthcare direction is helping patients find services they may need for a particular issue. For example, if a patient has bone or joint pain, I would direct them to an orthopedic doctor because that is their specialty. Then, I would collaborate with the case manager to schedule the patient's appointment.
Once the patient was seen and the doctor wrote the orders, I would advise the patient on the best ways to comply with those orders. Another example is when the doctor orders pills to be taken daily. I would advise the patient to get a seven-day pill box and put the pills needed for the day in each compartment. Hopefully, this advice will help the patient remember their meds and produce a better outcome.
