I had been waiting for this.
Presumably the chemical would wind up in the animal's kidneys rather than muscle. I'm rather afraid someone's going to know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway. Are pig kidneys used in any human food product?

Seriously, though.....when you think about where our food comes from..the processing, what is fed to animals...the hands that touch..ehh.....

it's a miracle people aren't poisoned and dropping like flies everywhere.
I sure don't trust our government to keep our food safe!

The horror tales I've heard from vets were all about dogs and cats with kidney failure. I'm thinking I may finally want to know what goes in the sausage.

Incidentally, pork livers are usually soaked in liquor of some kind to kill the germs... I haven't had a good pâté since I quit drinking. Pigs, being omnivores like us, will eat just about anything, and can carry all sorts of nasty microbes in their bodies without dying from it... that's why most Mesopotamian cultures consider them unclean.

I've had trychinosis before, from eating some medium-rare ribs. It wasn't that bad, and the ribs tasted great! I wonder what melamine tastes like. Does anybody know the symptoms?

OK, this is officially freaky.

Not 3 hours ago I was holding a package of pate de champagne at our local
grocery store.

"Over priced liverwurst", I thought, and put it back in the cooler.

Odd.
