Hollister and the (Overweight)

It might not be trolling, but do you really think anyone would agree with kicking someone out for being overweight? It is just a dumb thread.

I hope your holiday to north Kent was fun and you saw all the sights that Gravesend has to offer.

Chatham is worse still...|
I never once agreed with this i sapose you was hoping i would?

Nope it just seems you are going out of your way to go to this part of the world. I have lived in Kent before and god parts of it are hell, and that includes Bluewater - its the worst.

It's a shopping center but sundays are Pikey night..|

offtopic:

Yes it is rude i felt for her she was polite enough.

I apologize.

But without direct and irrefutable evidence that what you say happened actually happened....it is hard to take this thread seriously.

It smacks of trying to get everyone running after Hollister with pitchforks and torches.

The fact that you refer to the store manager as Chariman demonstrates sloppiness.

Of course we'd all be outraged. As I noted...it would likely be illegal to refuse entry to your store on the basis of weight...so I'm kinda thinkin' you might have just made the whole tale up.

But frankly...I was anticipating you taking the store's side in all of this in the second post you'd make in the thread. The fact that you didn't surprises me.

Because you have pretty much left yourself with zero cred when it comes to posting on JUB.

wish it weren't so...but it is....

Well i don't take the stores side at all.

I put that there as I witnessed a rather overweight woman being turned away at the door today what's that about?

Do you know for certain that she was turned away because of her weight? It could possibly have been a coincidence that she was overweight, but was turned away for being a banned shoplifter.

They basically said she was too overweight to fit the image their store provides some of the younger staff put up with it but have to keep a job. It was a bit shocking even i was shocked.

I'm not sure if this should be happening.

So rude this world. Some people.
I'm telling friends not to go there.

Excuse me while i call everyone i have ever met.

I'm not sure this should be happening either. Even here in Canada, most Canadians spell it 'centre'.

It is very difficult for me to trust anything you say as being the truth.

I like to call it shopping central myself.
It should not happen. We should not shop there.

I went into Hollister in Leeds once. The lighting was too dim (like the clientèle) and the music was too loud (like the goods). I have no plans to go back.

Agreed, although spell checks probably play a part here. Miz has just added one that probably autocorrects to silly US English.

Do they actually sell clothes in Cape Town?

No, they haven't got here yet.

One of our big department stores has brought in some of their stuff, though - they have a joint A&F/Hollister section, but just a few shelves, in a couple of the flagship stores here in .za.

It's those same guys here who have brought in Topman/Topshop, in fact, but they have brought in much more Topshop than A&F

Why would someone want overpriced clothes where the stitching lasts about two weeks before it starts to unravel while the clothes themselves lack any sort of flair or originality? Y'can find the same sorts of clothes anywhere, they're rather generic.
