So, for all the crap about healthcare in the USA, I have been tested 4 times for international travel and once for flu like symptoms and ALL have been free of charge, regardless of how many times I might go for testing. The one time I went for flu symptoms, I was given a shot to clear bronchitis symptoms. No charge.

Oh, yes. I live in the South. We are backward and stupid. Free testing. No charge for care. Go figure. I am not on Medicaid or Medicare. Just a walk-in for routine care. Maybe we are not the schmucks we are made out to be???

Several months ago I got 2 from the library. I tried to use one, but it said something about going onto a web site even before using the test and, whatever, it didn't make sense. I didn't get any others after that but I have caught a cold from my brother and will be going to the film festival among other people, so I went to the drug store today and had them test me and I am negative.

Not really except stockpiling intimates that they will get used. Hoarding is stockpiling for the sake of having loads

I believe you can still order the free tests in Scotland on the gov.uk website until 18 April.

Wales and Northern Ireland I believe are still issuing them, only England has stopped.

For me personally, I never felt a need to have a home Covid test. I am fully vaccinated as well with a booster. I never felt ill during the pandemic. Even though my job required me to be exposed during the pandemic. I always felt, see what happens and protect myself as much as possible. I was considered an essential worker. If I need to take a test, then I would of gone to a testing facility.
That was my comfort level. Everyone is different.
