Guilt isn't determined by its admission. Whether you know you're being wronged or not doesn't change the fact that you are.

I'm not talking about guilt. I'm talking about the consequences of your actions as that relates to the concept of home wrecking and whether or not an affair without outward consequences qualifies as home wrecking or not.

I definitely believe that the person who cheats is guilty of cheating, but I don't necessarily consider cheating equivalent to home wrecking.

Let's say John has sex with Mario. Mario has a wife. Is John a homewrecker? Besides the fact that Mario's wife will probably never find out about this cheating, is John still wrong for doing this?

By definition, if Mario's marriage breaks up because Mrs Mario files for divorce after fining out Mario had sex with John, then John is a homewrecker. But this would only apply if John knew Mario is married.

If John did not know Mario was married in the first place, I do not feel this label applies to John.

If John knew that Mario is married, they have sex and it was Mario who initiates a divorce, I cannot quite agree that John is the homewrecker, it was Mario who decided his marriage cannot stand.

Nope, John is not the home wrecker.
Mario has the power to put his cock away.

So Telstra, if I was to go have sex with your boyfriend of 5 years, I'd be innocent?

Yep, it is up to my boyfriend to control his dick.

And the issue is between me and him, not "the other person".

No. I have respect for other people's relationships, and I'm currently in one. lol

quote from seasoned:
The married guy is the one who bears the responsibility.

So if you want to fight, fight with your partner to death first ;)

I never said guilt is evenly distributed. But the fact that the married party is a lot more to blame doesn't change the fact that you enable him to do it. Also, I don't think a person has too much self-respect if they put themselves in that situation...

Yes, they can just say no. Doesn't mean that by enabling them you are not actively adding to the ruining of a relationship. I refuse to see the third party as blameless...

So do I. I don't think the blame is 50/50 but it sure as hell isn't 100/0.

I don't think it makes you a home wrecker but knowing that he's married, it sure doesn't paint you in that great a light. When you know someone is taken, one should walk the other direction.
