Homophobe gets "Just Desserts"...literally!

She actually handled it very well, and topped it off with a clever comment. :-)

Edit: come to think of it. If she wanted to own the pie thrower she should've said: "Yuck, it's a fruit pie".

ROFL

I would've put broken glass in it though.

Anita Bryant made a lot of trouble back then. However, since then she's recanted pretty completely--as in, admitted she was wrong about it all, and that the Bible doesn't at all justify the things she was saying.

Just to fill in. 1977 was a long time ago. She doesn't say or believe those things any more.

Eh. I don't think I get as much satisfaction from these things as I used to.

Look. Was Anita Bryant a bit of a cunt? Yes. Should we hit her with pie because of it? Not really. Of course they aren't interested in rational debate, but I don't think we should celebrate someone acting like an ass. If we're focusing on trying to gain LGBT acceptance, we shouldn't be doing stupid shit like pieing someone.

Although, I did laugh a bit when Ann Coulter got a pie thrown at her.

I guess I'm not as grown up as I thought.

My point wasn't that homophones are dignified in any way. But we should be better than that.

Homophones are very dignified. And they very rarely participate in homography.

Aww, I was just having fun with your typo!

Actually I think kids should be taught about "homophones" (two words that sound alike) and "homographs" two words that are spelled alike) rather than that stupid ambiguous word 'homonym', which just causes confusion.

Consider...but no, don't. It's OT for this thread. If I have the energy later I'll start a thread about it for us word nerds and grammar geeks.
